How many actual days off you get or if you end up on reserve because you can’t build a line with enough credit depends on your seniority number. Oh yeah, that’s right, if you can’t get enough credit but people junior to you can. PBS will build a line for junior pilots and you will be on reserve by default. Life under PBS can be quite interesting.
If your vacation days are worth 5 hours, you are basically starting the month with 35 hours and a block of 9 days off where trips can’t be placed. Being able to stretch that 9 days to two weeks or more will depend on your seniority.

Are we sure about these two "buffer" days that will go along side our vacation? I never heard of this. So a 7 day vacation is guaranteed to be 9 days? What if your vacation is the beginning of the month? 1st thru 7th? Or the last. Where did you hear this?

I predict a pass rate in the mid 60s.

I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised. There are more pilots on property who do NOT benefit from the wages, PBS and bonus check than who do...

I’m thinking it doesn’t pass - about 70% no vote.

We may be last in every customer service metric but we’re not stupid. Nobody takes the first offer in a negotiation.

I am not sure of the language yet or how it works but if it is true that we have a buffer of 2 days off on one side or the other really means nothing to me. Those 2 days off would be "your" days off anyway. You still need 40 hours to build that line assuming you need 75 like you currently do. If you wanted those two days off on either side of vacation you could just use your seniority to request that. So I don't see how it is a gain because not all will want that. They might want to spread the days off elsewhere.

I currently average about 45 hours of dropped credit with one week of vacation with our current system so PBS vacation credit would end up with a net loss of 10 hours per week of vacation. Worse.

Adding the two days Guarantees you have those days off. Also, right now your guaranteed 75 hours of credit no matter what your line is built to. Based on that I would imagine pbs will try and build at least 75 credit. No more of these 60ish block lines that pay 75 credit. You don't have add the two days if you don't want and if you do you can elect (not sure if you can elect not to yet?) to take from your vac credit. So you would essentially be starting with 45 credit. This information if based on conversations with negotiators (I haven't seen the language).

Except for United, American, Hawaiian, Allegiant, JetBlue, Alaska and Spirit.

They all took the first TA. We aren't buying a used car on craigslist here.
