Frontier Negotiations Discussion

If another 9/11 happens do you really believe Indigo won’t be in court the next week asking for significant monetary concessions? That’s the problem with conceding work rules for compensation, you will never, ever get them back. Judges have no problem gutting pay to “save” a company. It has happened countless times in this industry since deregulation. They are far less likely to go after scheduling or QOL items because they have less tangible value in the eyes of the law.
That’s a good argument and I agree. Just stating some of the stuff I heard at Spirit.

I think we can all agree Southwest is a far superior airline to Frontier and Spirit for that matter. My argument was based on the pay rates on APC. I don’t have a copy of the schedules but I know they are productive. It says on APC their B fund is 13%...is that not correct?

Can you imagine what kind of contract Southwest would have if they listened to ALPA? “You are a LCC, get used to it. You couldn’t get hired anywhere else. You can’t expect to be compared to other narrow-body contracts. You need to settle for a bottom industry contract so we can stop wasting money on you and get back to our legacy airline negotiations.”

What bothers me most about all this:
What was the point of working so hard toward this? What was the point of dotting our i's and crossing out t's. What was the point of taking the pain, filing the grievances? The pickets, the RV, the surveys? Everything we've done all this time to try and fight this battle the right way? What was the point of any of this if we were just going to roll over and take some bottom barrel low tier deal?
Sometimes when you invest so much and work so hard, you're duty bound to see it through. You can't let some stupid bluff undo everything you've built over the last 3 years.
Our leadership is completely out of line accepting this. And out of fear? And the promises they made us, the BS they emailed us, the stuff they told us to our faces. WTF!?!?
All along I think we knew, we'd give up some of our work rules for industry standard rates. But we're neither keeping our work rules or getting industry standard rates. We suck! What an embarrassment. We have absolutely cemented ourselves in this industry to be what they say we are. No one's fault but our own.
Sickening!

To all of you previous ASA guys/gals, please compare the PBS language and rules of ASA to our TA. I was from Mesa. We had none. The company could do what they wanted! From talking to an ASA guy, we need this Vacation LOW, the unstacking limits of just Nov, and Dec. and even then limits them to unstacking up to 50 percent. Plus I like this Unstacking bid preference tab you say you had.
PBS is the only way this thing is getting voted down by the senior guys. Yes there are a few senior warriors who will vote no and I thank them but I don't think it will be enough unless PBS is a big FAIL!
