Oh, I’m in complete agreement. Believe me, my post wasn’t expressing any sort of disappointment. I was just saying that it seems the union was able to hold a hard line if the rumor is true. If the union had anything to do with it, I would have been disappointed to see us hire with people still on the street.

My bad I just used your post as a frame of reference, I didn’t think you were for it. I can’t really imagine anyone who would or why other than a little jump on seniority gain.

So I noticed from the "what if award" -quite a few VL1 captains (guys on the 6 month cola) are getting Involuntary displaced back to FO, Myself included . How would that work out if I retrain as an FO and then 3 months later I bid CA when I can hold my base again as Captain? Would I need to do the entire upgrade again ?

Xdashdriver 12-17-2020 03:11 AM

No, you would just need to requal as a Captain. I.e Left seat PC and probably a line check.

Good thing their hiring lots of check airmen............seems like their setting them selves up for lots of retraining down grade upgrade events......

Thanks. will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Been on reserve in base since I upgraded and made a lot of money but last few months before covid I was also working almost every reserve period. May be nice to have 20 days off and fly in the sunlight as a senior FO.

Is there truly any merit to what I keep hearing about hiring in 2021? I just don’t see how that’s possible given the current climate.

We are almost for sure going to hire in 2021. Probably not too much, but aircraft delivery continues

i heard a rumor that UAL pilots were notified today about hiring projections in 2021, can anyone verify?

Your management wants to hire into zero hour lines? Don't tell our management at Allegiant, they'll try to hire directly to furlough status, just to have pilots in their pocket.
