Leave the car home where it belongs

Denver is having a city wide issue of car thefts everywhere. It's even hit the DIA parking lots.. its a mess. "DENVER — One car per hour. That's how many vehicles are stolen on average in the City of Denver every day.

Denver has seen one of the country's largest increases in auto theft since the COVID-19 pandemic started, with the number of reported stolen cars more than doubling.

Through June 19 of this year, 5,923 vehicles were stolen in Denver, compared with 2,547 from the same period in 2020, according to the Colorado Metropolitan Auto Task Force (C-MATT)."

How are most people getting to class if there's no hotel shuttle? 2 months of Uber could get pricey, but I guess splitting it with classmates could work out ok.

I’m pretty sure there is a hotel shuttle.

No shuttle. Some rent and share expenses with others or bring their cars. Always seemed to be a ride available.

Ridiculous.

Although they didn't even provide hotels before so I guess it's hard to complain too much

Getting in the car is the easy part. Can always break the window, just need a rock. Starting the car? Not so much. Without the smart key or special equipment no way. Door locks are there to make your car less attractive to hobos looking for a place to sleep, and casual thieves looking for easy loot.

You’re going to be in Denver for 2+ months potentially. You should bring your vehicle unless you have a really, really good reason not to. I drove 15 hours. Several classmates drove much further. Worth it.

Otherwise, there will be a ton of people in your class who brought a vehicle and will be happy to lend a ride. You will regret not having your vehicle the first day you are there. The plus side to that is you’ll get to make some new friends by constantly asking for rides to/from the training center, to the grocery store, etc.

It should be noted that the hotels DO have an airport shuttle, so that isn’t an issue.
