Unfortunately the law of primacy will be violated by going to do your type rating in Dallas then onto Frontier. You'll learn Airbus procedures in Dallas, then have to learn Frontier procedures when you get into class in DEN. There are differences, and some re-learning will be necessary.

I thought the ATP Airbus class in Dallas used all of our training stuff? I could be wrong but I thought that they were trying to copy our program as closely as possible?

They give you F9 material from F9 but they don’t really follow that. That’s a “if you have time after the Dallas shenanigans” scenario. A few guys in the recent class went and it is different once you get to F9 from what I was told. I would not study the F9 material because it’ll get confusing trying to switch to what ATP wants you to do. After you check the box and pass the ride then I would hit it hard on the F9 material they send. If you do you will be far ahead of the game and feel a lot less stress trying to learn that while trying to learn everything else that is needed.

A little bit of research goes a long way in finding a job in this racket.

If you're not willing to AT LEAST read a few pages of the hiring thread on APC before throwing in your app I fear this might not be for you.

Am I getting old? What's going on with the youths these days?

:p

Ya, grump old man rings a bell, especially when you seem to assume I am new to the industry. Work smart not hard, with all the thousands of pages out there it’s easier to ask a question. Those who wish not to answer can mind their business, or do little things like someone asking a question bother others so much who probably live on here?

Hello all. I had some questions about the three weeks in Dallas (ATP/CTP, Type and F9 Flows). I wanted to make sure I got a head start on the material before I show up.

I've started on the online ground school that needs to be completed before we show up for ATP CTP. Also got Shepperd Air and am looking over the questions for the ATM post ATP CTP.

As far as the rest of the material sent (flows, limits, memory items etc.), how much of that should I memorize before showing up for the type rating and then the F9 specific training? I understand the law of primacy and I did not want to memorize anything incorrectly if it will be taught in class the correct way.

Thank you

I’ll be where you’re at in a couple of months. In how advance do you get the online ground before showing up to ATP-CTP?

The moment your ATP CTP date is confirmed and you get the email, you’ll be sent multiple emails that have all of the information you’ll need to study.

Bases

What are the junior bases at Frontier and more importantly how long to be able to hold DFW? Also how long to hold a line at these bases?

At this point, the first part of the application process should be a demonstration of proficiency in using the search function in any social media platform.

Has anyone who interviewed and was hired recently heard back about class dates? I interviewed 3 weeks ago, got an offer, but still haven't heard back about class dates. I completed all the background check work and did finger prints/drug testing day of interview.
