It’s no different then any other airline. It’s not some trick. When you’re hired you will bid on a base and be awarded dependant on what’s available and by seniority order during ground. Seniority is assigned amongst the class by age, oldest being most senior. Once you are awarded a base it’s yours..someone senior cannot bid it and bump you out. You can be involuntarily displaced. People keep asking about base seniority. At this point honestly no one really knows. Den is the largest base, it’s also possible it is about to shrink, but who knows...we don’t. The plan as we know it is 250 new hires this year, they have to go somewhere. That is the number I’ve been told with no Thomas cook planes. I’ve heard we are actually getting none...again, who knows. It was a reliable source, who also told me MIA was the next base two months before it was announced. If we do get any of the TC planes, then they will hire more then 250 this year.
A guess would be that you should be able to get the base you want within a few months. That’s a guess though.

I have an invite to interview and a few questions for someone who has been at F9 for a while. Most of these questions I cannot find topics about on the forum threads.
1) What is the typical pairing for a junior line holder? 4/3. 4/4, varies., etc..?
2) Will crew scheduling approve drop trip requests? i.e. I don't want to work this month and don't need the money.. I request to drop each sequence.. Is there a place where a pilot can go look (like at Spirit and UA) to determine the chances of his drop getting approved? What about dropping reserve?
3) What are the reserve callout requirements?
4) Does F9 have airport standby? If so, is there a limit to how many times they can put you on standby a month, per sequence? Do you get paid per hour you sit, or do you sit for 8 and get paid for 4?
5) Does F9 have a min day guarantee for pay?
6) Does F9 have lost days during sequences?
7) Is anyone willing to PM me and send me a PDF of the contract so I can review and make my own educated decision?
8) How does DH pay work? i.e. 75%, 100%, DH on other carriers?
The interview invite caught me by surprise as I don't know much about F9. I'm a huge outdoorsman and love the tails..

I'm not sure I understand your sentiment.. "nobody in their right mind".. IMO, nobody in their right mind would join an organization subject to a contract and union/company mandated bargaining agreement without first reading said bargaining agreement that you are about to subject yourself to and enter into agreement to abide by.

1. Redeye
2. You can drop with caviots. Can’t drop below 50 credit at any point and have to finish at either 60 or 70 credit depending on the bid period. Drops are done electronically and are grid dependent.
3. 2 hrs for short call
4. No
5. 5 credit per duty period for unmodified sequences.
6. ???
7. I hope not. If your at an Alpa carrier a rep might be able to provide it to you.
8. 100%. 150% if you end up in a middle.

I love the #6. ??? Glad to know they don't exist anywhere else.. Short explanation for this is you're out on a 4 day, one of the days you spend 30 hours in a hotel without pay. No min day guarantee or lost day pay. It's happening on almost every sequence for 75% of the lines at Envoy now.
