And when I say "future" I don't just mean the next contract.

#1 on my list would be to see if, because labor is substantively cheaper than first thought, we might turn this into real leverage in the upcoming PBS negotiations.

Its 5 hour average per duty period, not day, and that itself is not worth much. Most of the productivity focus is more related to the 3.5 trip rig.

You're right. The 3.5 trip rig does have a larger impact than the 5 hour average.

Just confirmed... no new hire classes until September at earliest. New aircraft coming in will be used as spares for operational reliability. Upper mgmnt really concerned over performance the last 6 months.

Their compensation structure must have changed. From what I had heard, and as far as I could tell, it was totally based on how cheap they could run the airline. If they are worried NOW, it must be because something has changed. I'd guess because they have to get people interested in investing money in this place? With Spirit blowing everyone away with their on time performance, we now stand alone. Like an outhouse.

Yeah that’s what I would guess, an IPO would happen soon. Hopefully that will help us all. Stinks for all those in the pool though.

So, a 3 month break in hiring during the summer.

Isn't that exactly what we did the last 2 years?

Im sorry for the guys in the pool who got shafted here, but I'm confident hiring will resume at a brisk pace and you guys will do well

Having a few spares will be nice, but if they don’t start properly staffing the above and below wing services not much will change. Saw a guy loading an entire 320 by himself the other night...we left late.

What a smug post. You should be ashamed.
