Are people still being invited for interviews or is there a complete stop to that too until the pool is starting to run dry?

They said they stopped interviewing, but still doing recruiting "meet the chiefs" events so the have a pool of applicants to call when management calls them and freaks out about how we need to hire 100 people tomorrow.

Why are we hiring Purdue grads? For that matter, I don't understand why we have a flow program with multiple regionals? We have a large applicant pool and can still be selective in our hiring process through the normal process. We can control or select the people we hire with our normal hiring process.

I understand the reasoning if we had a marketing agreement with the regional or they were providing lift for us. In that situation, we are attacking candidates to our regional, which benefits us ultimately.

That is not the case with any of the regionals we are providing flow to.

Because we have to hire a whole lot of pilots in the future.

Just because we have an applicant pool today doesn't mean we wont have a hiring problem in the future.

And let's be honest, even with our new contract, we will never be at the top of the list for future pilot candidates

Are ‘meet the chiefs’ events open for everyone or do you need an invitation?

When hiring picks up again in the fall, is it anticipated that all bases will be available to new hires fairly quickly? Thanks.

Yes. Of course everything you might read or hear right now is all just opinion. It’s my opinion that hiring will start again before fall. If you don’t get your base of choice In ground you should be awarded it very quickly thereafter.

Based on past precedent yes. New hires seem to get what base they want within a couple months if not right out of training.
