Agreed, V1.....I’m finding out that the opening of Open Time to reserves + end of VJA = end of easy add flying after MOT. It seems nuts to me that you still block out Line Holders the day prior after 930LDT.....it’s like CS wants to use their reserves rather than leg liners access trips.....
Mark my words.....this will bite CS HARD in any type of > day IROP or other System disruption......

They’ll just bump inc in the premium add folder till it’s covered. It won’t be an issue unless we’re understaffed. This forces a premium on covering last min flying. It’s a good thing IMO. Or we can go back to pilots stepping all over each other last min in opentime to pickup with zero incentive (LOA 65). The only downside I see it to those willing to do last min flying for no premium.

Gotcha, fcoolaid......just realizing now that this aspect of the CBA really neutralizes the ability of a senior FO or CA to add flying to their line....I think most were already aware.........guess I better get my Flica alerts updated and be quicker on the old iPhone......

Giving the ability for reserves to pickup on a day off is a give from a lineholders perspective. Having said that trying to make everyone happy is nearly impossible. I’m a lineholders and it doesn’t bother me. At all. What did bother me was the whole group of pilots we had calling crew scheduling (per LOA 65) picking up flying the day of then commuting out to wherever to do redeye. Completely bypassing the vja ja process. Basically taking away leverage at the negotiating table.

You and me both. If your referring to giving up the ability to basically make yourself legal for only two day trips I agree that was a give. IMO It was also something that we were not going to be able to keep and reach an agreement. Now on most res lines you have the ability to make yourself legal for three days or less. Think tradeboard and make other res friends in same seat and domicile. Takes the grid out of the equation. Also keep in mind there’s still negotiating left to accomplish (pbs). We Really don’t want to just show management the issues they have. It’s clear they read this.
