Default TPA Base?

I have heard through some people working at TPA and through mutual friends in the industry that TPA may soon become a crew base for Frontier. Does anyone know more about this rumor?

At this point I doubt it. With both a MIA and MCO base, I'd be surprised to see another FL domicile.

My bets on PHX next

With 2 bases in FL now, who cares? If you live in TPA drive to MCO 3-4 times a month. Heck you could even drive to MIA and still have an easier drive than most commutes by air.

Flight Attendants probably will have a TPA base at some point if we continue to expand there, their contract gives them little protection from the company opening micro FA bases all over.

It’s almost as if you’re insinuating that pilots have protection against these micro bases...which we don’t.

Heard from mechanics in PHX the other day that it will become a class 2 MX base with 5 RON aircraft/night. If that doesn't scream next base I don't know what does.

Not to mention phx allows them to shrink den a bit without creating a bunch of involuntary displacements. That happened last time when it was just a reduction of six captains. Captains were displaced out of las. There’s several las captains that want phx. I would say they don’t care but when they have to pay for moves (voluntary as well now) and multiple training events (captains that are in upgrade training electing to stay fo in domicile, 2 events and 6months) they will care.

PHX helps every other base honestly. It shuffles all the DEN commuters
