I could even argue the ELS guys shouldn’t even pick up trips, but it’s the only way to make a few bucks for some and lines are being built well above 75.

Maybe this is off base as I’ve never been through a situation like this...but shouldn’t the union be communicating the rules of engagement for this situation, ie it is HIGHLY recommend to stick to 75 etc. ???
The union can’t “communicate the rules of engagement”
That would be an illegal work action
Everyone on property understands the ramifications. Some will work their line and a few will pick away open time like buzzards. Always been that way and always will be.
It’s always the same ones

Concessions- we were so proud that no one got furloughed after 9/11 because we took concessions. Would it be tough to get back? Would it hurt in the long term? Sure. A price we should be willing to pay to keep our coworkers out of the unemployment Line and food on their tables.[/QUOTE

A bit of revisionist history going on there. We didn’t furlough after 911. We also didn’t take concessions. 2008 we did take concessions and we did furlough. It took ten years to get the concessions back and about 2ish to get the furloughs back. I’ll guess it takes less time to get furloughs back this time or half the list are furloughed. I agree min credit even on the captain side helps unless your doing it with the intention of taking a cola the following bid period. FYI some of the worst captain credit wh0res are on longer term colas.

My favorite is a lot of the senior FOs in base that we could see their schedules for the last year are suddenly unavailable for viewing....A lot are the usual premium and OT folks

If you hide your schedule everyone knows what you’re doing. Not fooling anyone.

Admittedly I have mine blocked. The reason was this one guy got my number from a coworker and he called me ALL the time trying to get pairings that he wanted and ALWAYS wanted to give me his crap. Just kept up with crazy amounts of trade board requests, calls etc. Blocked my schedule and he CALLED to ask why, told him straight up he was the only guy driving me nuts with all the calls. So actually not everyone is super pickup happy with a blocked schedule. Just saying.

Highly recommended or what? It’s our contractual right to pickup just like the guys taking upgrades. I’m just waiting for someone to tell me otherwise face to face!

The upgrade thing is so overblown. Literally a few people, some w very specific reasons, and prob won’t even happen when it’s all said and done.
