Attrition of captains? I don’t have facts to support this but I highly doubt it. More likely that most of our fleet growth is occurring in the second half of this year and new hire classes are increasing to 50-60 soon.

I doubt we’ve lost 24 captains recently, but I know of 2 that left in May. Both we 2015 hires.

I made the move from 135 and have really been pleased with that decision. I strive to work as little as possible and am pretty successful at only working about 10 days a month.
The LAS trips are a bunch of day turns or Redeyes for the junior crowd. There are a ton of commuters in LAS from PHX, Cali, ect so you would be competing with them. Unfortunately your 4 day dream is currently not gonna happen in LAS. However, you can back up two trips pretty easily to create a 3/4/5 day rotation that is commutable both sides but with a LAS layover in the middle.
As far as PHX trip makeup nobody has any idea that I know of. But if/when it does open it will suck a bunch of people out of Vegas and help the seniority there. That should help just in time for you to show up at LAS.

Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. How long have you been at F9 to only work 10 days a month?

Every month I have had a line in any base I have been successful. Even when I was on Shortcall reserve I would try to drop to the minimum 60/70 if I could since I didn't feel as if commuting for a day of $60 per hour was worth it. I would just rather be at home.

Are you saying you were able to drop short call reserve days? At Frontier?

Yes that is correct. Subject to limitations…25.V in Docunet CBA. But I’m guessing you are more asking this as tounge in cheek?
Edit to add: More often I would get early release on my last day to come on home.

Apologies if its already been asked but how much block time can a new hire expect to get while on reserve in a base like PHL or the florida bases? currently at a UAX regional getting less than 30 hours a month on reserve.. Is the captain to FO ratio nearly as bad at F9?
