I have an FDO (Fixed day off line) which is all Long call. So far I’m at 35 block hours. Based in MCO. Last month is was RSA (0300-1330 short call) and I worked 44 block hours however I did pick up 12 of those.

Sweet, do you bid this way to maximize days off? And are you mainly getting called for 1-2 day trips or are there 4 days in there too?

These FDO lines went junior in MCO for Jan so I got one that way, plus there were I believe 9 of these lines then. Feb and March they had 6 and I missed them by a big margin. As far as 1 and 2 day trips? Yes. Occasionally you will get a 3 day but it’s one layover. Leave domicile around 2200. Land at 0000-0300. Spend 28 hours there. Leave 0700 or so next day. 4 day trips are virtually nonexistent. Haven’t seen one since I did IOE in sept.

They’re frequently used to maximize vac credit. That being the case to truly maximize vac credit pilots place all their vac in March (contractual increase month) and bid a fdo line. Now your entire vac -7 is in premium. They tend to go a bit sr in March for this reason.
