The same President green lighted airline bail out packages under COVID. Right or wrong, who knows. In 50 years, business school departments can "study" it. However the bailout was under the pretense that airline pilots were "critical" and airlines were critical infrastructure, etc. "National security issues" etc etc was waved around

I do not personally see the same President sitting idle when a work group wants to go on strike at an airline. His loyalists (Bedford, etc) will pull levers and push buttons to prevent a strike.

My opinion

BB seems super happy and bullish considering these recent economic events in his video he just put out. Good leverage for negotiations. I suspect Kirby will be eating crow soon with all the doo doo he’s been giving us the last couple years.

Agreed but that was all airlines shut down essentially by the government. This situation would be different at just little ole Frontier. I don’t know our domestic market share offhand and don’t care enough to google now but I’m guessing really small %.

He said the same thing as we were going into COVID…we were positioned better than any other airline, we had the best balance sheet, we were going to come out the other side stronger than ever….What happened? We were just about the only airline that could not make money, with Spirit and JetBlue. I don’t believe anything BB says.

True, but everyone was surprised and caught off guard at how much pent up demand there was and how much global travel really ramped up. Legacies won and subsidized their own ULCC with ULCC priced seats in the back. I suspect this will be organically different if there’s no government bailout and international bread n butter travel evaporates from a fundamental change in the global economy, But all subject to change at the whims of Trump.
