Radio operator? Flight Engineer? Mechanic? is it just a dog that barks at you if to press the wrong buttons? Given the limited training to become a pilot It doesn't make sense to put someone else in that seat. With that said over a long enough time line the pilot positions go from two to one to none. We need to cling to our jobs like real-estate agents Far longer than any logical use case
NASA has been working on this for over a decade. Basically an overpowered dispatcher controls the flight and the single pilot is there for emergencies and contingencies.

So how does that prevent the Germanwings Flight 9525 scenario? Mental health is a big problem these days. It does not seem to be getting any better.

Yep, somehow the company CLEARLY dragging their feet for years isn't seen as dragging in the eyes of the NMB. It is wild just how much the RLA favors the company.

Lol. My man. Look at our quarterly “earnings” release. The NMB is gonna look at the company’s revenue generating ability (or lack thereof) and laugh at the idea that F9 is somehow obligated to pay legacy rates.

I’m noticing a distinct trend of the people I fly with. People are starting to worry more about the company’s long term viability than about the contract. Reality eventually hits.

100% correct. A legacy contract should be the very least of our worries. F9 is in serious, potentially unrecoverable trouble.

I don’t think they would be financially destroying the company for a pilot contract.

from negotiating Committee

The next negotiating session is planned for
September 2-4. It is our firm expectation that management will respond in kind, showing the same level of seriousness and commitment to moving these negotiations forward.
