Hopefully whatever demonic entity he dances naked to with other robed men can make this company some serious coin.

Flew through ATL the other day and they told us they were short staffed 15 people because they all called in sick or just didn't show up.

the last airlines confidential podcast has a 10 min section at the beginning about Spirit and Frontier, Scott seems to be thinking that Frontier let BB go to appease stakeholders in a potential merger since losses over numerous years clearly isn't sustainable. Points that Spirit + Frontier is still likely, and that there is a high chance that Dave Davis (current CEO of spirit) will take over the combined company due to his track record at previous airlines and for what it is worth, in Spirit's position, he has done a good job steering the ship, even if it is sinking right now.
It is a good listen for 10 mins to see some more ideas from a management side. https://open.spotify.com/episode/3WK...517cb0db6346d9

It's not quite that simple, strict longevity is not the only factor weighted.
It's pretty unlikely that any unemployed pilot will get slotted above an employed pilot, without extreme longevity delta. Even if that did happen, I can just about assure you that any pilots who wind up junior to furloughs will have a carve-out protection to prevent displacement to the street.
"Career expectations" reasonably means that you have an expectation to not have your job handed to somebody at a failing airline.

An arbitrator (Nicolau I think) went through that with the USAir/America West merger. Because of "career expectations" he took the number of pilots flying widebodies (as the other party didn't have any) and put them to the top, and then gave a stripe (someone correct me but I think it was something like 2:1) because the other party was in bankruptcy/might not survive without the merger. So the top guys at AW got hosed, and junior guys at USAir got hosed more.
