Well put. And correct. Pilot pay is more often than not a single-digit number as a percentage of an air carrier's overall costs.

Kinda sets a bad tone for the interview.

His SWA interview was 2 weeks later.

You're right Karma is strange, strange enough to bite those with a bus type who interview at a non bus airline.
I know tons of people who have 737 type ratings and have gotten a job at Frontier. A buddy of mine answered with "because I originally planned to go to southwest. It didn't work out, but I am glad because Frontier is a better fit for me." That question is just a $hit test, and your buddies must have
screwed up when they answered it. they just interviewed poorly.

Before you respond to MWright take the time to read his other posts, you will notice his negative tone and the fact he knows everything about anything, except what an FCC Radiostation license is and when its required.

Does this have to do with flying a US airplane out of the country and using a VHF radio while doing so?
I certainly don't have a problem with his FCC quesiton, but I do have a problem with the fact that he knows nothing about the hiring process at 121 carriers.

The point to my post is this. If you are interested in working at Frontier, I know for a fact that a 737 type rating will not prevent you from getting a job. I know for a fact that since they have started hiring there has been pilots hired with a 737 type rating. My class had at least two, I was one and my sim partner was one! I also know a friend of mine that interviewed at SWA unsuccessfully and is now at Frontier with this 737 type.

MWright what is your beef with Frontier and Airbus? Before you answer remember the Karma, it may continue to bite you.

First off, I do not work for F9. Everyone take note of MWright. This is exactly the type of jaded, angry person who will make this industry completely intolerable for the rest of us. Saying "I hope SWA does not take you guys" over a hiring tactic that was put forth by F9's interview panel and HR department is wrong. F9 has a strong pilot group of true professionals. F9 pilots dont make the decision to not hire someone becasue they purchased a 737 type in hopes of advancing their career. Their hiring team does. MWright, do you know what its like to be a part of a larger pilot group? On a sepearte note. We all need to stop fighting eachother. Its time that we move forward as a group and make this a career work having.

Wow F9forME, you are such a nice guy. I was wrong about you and the entire F9 pilot group, and for that I apologize.

Also, a hearty kudos for ressurecting an honest question I had about 11 months ago.

Why does it worry that I am not on the up and up about 121 hiring? I don't understand the relavance to my statement about possible ex frontier people begging jobs from the same people they turned down.

But you're right, you are smarter than me and better than me. After all, I fly a much inferior airplane to yours for roughly the same amount of money assuming I'm right in my assumption that you're a second year FO. But you know the saying, money isn't everything.

Best of luck in your (possible) job search. I hear SWA could interview late next year.
