At this point, I think the guys/gals with the TPIC are at a disadvantage, based on what I'm hearing. Excellent, dedicated folks not making it through the phone or the on site interview. The TPIC folks have a lot more unwarranted convincing to do. F9s loss. The complex- of having too much experience- bar has been brought way down for fear of losing a new hire to a Legacy IMHO.

F9 has a $17,000 training contract. They can always up the ante if need be.

Frontier has no training contract.

I was hired this past April and interviewed in Feb. They only mentioned the training contract during interview, but as said before, there is no contract. I never signed anything, so I'm not sure why they still mention it during the interview.

They've been doing that since (at least) last year when the current round of hiring started. I formed two theories to possibly explain it:

1: They have the mechanism in place and are considering implementing such a contract; mentioning it during the interview puts everyone "on notice," so if & when they pull the trigger on applying a training contract, no one can complain "I didn't know" or otherwise avoid it....

and/or

2: The idea of a contract sticks in people's minds. As has been mentioned multiple times in this thread, F9 is very sensitive to people leaving for other airlines. For the cost ($0) of mentioning a contract during the interview, if even one pilot decides to stick around beyond when he might otherwise leave, that's a "win" for the company....

Bottom line: I don't know, either, and I wonder the same thing as you....

I interviewed on Tuesday. The gouge was right on. I was offered a position. I was told the November class would be around 20-25. Looks like most new hires will be going east but who knows where. I'm very excited and a little nervous to leave my current position. I'm hoping for Denver not too long after training, but again who knows.

6000+ TT mostly all 121
Around 500 TPIC.

Another thing, seems like they are going to be hiring a lot in the future so get your app in. I also used pilotlogbookprinting.com. for my elogbook. Came out great for around $200. I even got a compliment by the interviewers.

Congrats! Welcome aboard.

I am curious as to what they said to you during the interview to make you think that most new guys will be going East? They haven't decided on a domicile yet, so I would be very curious to know what they told you.
