For all pilots, over 82 credit hours those numbers are multiplied by 1.25, so VJAs pay 1.5625X and JAs are 1.785X. Best trips ever for me in the last few years were 14.3 hrs credit on a 1 day JA in June a few years back, and 35.7 hrs for a 2 day trip starting on a Christmas Day.
But then again, some 357 fans think that our contract sucks. Still can't figure that one out.

For reserve pilots flying on days off, VJAs pay 1.25X normal rates, and JAs pay 1.5X normal rates, on top of reserve guarantee.

Allright allright! Not a few minutes out of trouble and we are "gloating" already?!. You have an OK contract, not the worst, but probably not the best. Your goal should be to start improving and pushing for an even better contract, not sit around and gloat about a contract that has room for major improvements in almost every section. (by the way I am of the school of thought of flying less and getting paid more: This low hourly rate but bonus to fly more is a disaster. It creates stagnation and enables management to exploit their labor..Less hiring)
I still believe F9 could have a great future.

the Pilot is first placed on the Company payroll as a Pilot"

I agree that our CBA needs improvement however I am very concerned about the concept that Private Equity will be our next owner. Indigo or Persues or TPG could careless about running/owning an airline long term. Our new "owners" are going to try and squeeze this thing for every penny possible. We are in for an epic battle with some of the worst folks in the industry. Good times.
Your new owners will have to understand that you are not willing to work for a discount. However, if your pilot group thinks they are paid very well and that your CBA is great, then your work is cut out.
We had a Frontier jumpseater from Denver the other day. Very smart and informative gentleman. He told us two things, that worry me.
1) He told us that a few of the Frontier Union officers, that were in charge of the Republic deal, are either on long term sick leave or in a high management position.
2) A majority of the pilots will work for less money as long as their Denver base is untouched.
You can convey a lot to a new buyer. I hope the best for you. Real nice people and product you have.

There is old book called Fountainhead. Real nice read.

The jumpseater you had may have been a gentleman, but 1 and 2 are not accurate. One smart former FAPA rep took a VP position, another FAPA guy is apparently broken, and everyone with a brain knows that Denver is lost. There may be a few that will work for pennies in an effort to drive to work but the majority will not buy a domicile only to see it closed six months later.
