Rick, just wondering what made you feel that you were perhaps overqualified?

Not wanting my ego bruised anymore? Makes me feel good.

However the entire hr part was about United and when I'll leave frontier for United. I walked into that feeling the day went great, walked out knowing I was going home. Really great group of people and I'm heart sunk I can't be part of the excitement. I wasn't looking for a stepping stone but clearly I failed at selling it. I also may be flat out wrong and they just saw me as a freak show.

Hey man, I got sent home too. It sucks. Try again in 6 months and in the mean time, move on to the next one. Good Luck.

That is exactly how it went down for me too... Made it through the lunch cuts, and went into the CP interview pumped! The entire atmosphere of the interview went from very welcoming and friendly to somewhat antagonistic and distrustful. I basically had to defend myself regarding my future at Frontier, and was also asked (repeatedly) why I would stay if United/Delta called. Quite frankly that is a bizarre angle for an interview team, and a red flag regarding the company in my opinion.

Like you, I feel that I could very easily have made Frontier a home for many years (if not permanently). I felt like the potential for upgrading was better at F9, and I REALLY didn't want to commute for the next 5-10 years of my life since I currently live (and was raised) in Denver. Obviously I wasn't able to sell that, and it is what it is.

I do have the option of re-applying next month, but I won't be. I like the employees at Frontier, but the way the end of the interview went was a big turnoff. I was also called by a recruiter in Sept about interviewing, and they didn't even realize I'd already interviewed in June. I told him about it, and he said he'd get back to me after talking to JP about trying to get me in earlier than 6 months. He never called me back.

I've worked VERY hard at this career for over 10+ years, I have zero training failures, recommendations from every job I've had, including several from my current employer. I think I deserved to be treated better than I was at the end by the interview team and the recruiter. Nothing personal with those guys, but it did demonstrate that Frontier airlines and I are not a good fit for each other.

I wish everybody over there success, but am looking forward to finding an employer that will be a better match for me. I think you will also end up finding an excellent opportunity with your qualifications in the near future. All the best, and good luck!

That's great that they are so wrapped around the axle worying about whether you are looking at any career airlines rather than getting a true gauge of your character. "Gee, who cares if this guy is a total douche bag, as long as he doesn't want to work for anyone else!" If you came to an interview I was conducting and tried to convince me that F9 is the only place you wanted to work I would deduce that you were either a liar or an idiot. Either way I wouldn't hire you. I can't imagine how many good guys we have passed up and who may have slipped in because they can lie to your face and keep a straight face. I'm afraid this myopic approach will bite us in the long run.
