Most things (company related) are the same or worse.

The silver lining is that I have been very impressed with the training department and all the current pilots. Sure saying the company needs some improvements is an understatement. However, I think that with such a good group of pilots things will improve over time.

Coming to Frontier now may not be as desirable as other majors, but I think the upside is worth the risk. Time will tell.
Dang, dang, you beat me to it with 1/16 of the wording

People have made the remarks that 'nothing will change because we have the same leadership in place that we've had for years, and nothing has changed, and never will.' That isn't necessarily true. The president and COO are both relatively new, and in direct positions to affect changes.

When the COO spoke to us... (I know, shut up about the rah-rah RGS speech already sulk) Anyway I can't help myself... When the new COO spoke to us he 100% admitted that F9 needed a lot of work. He told us in so many words that when he came on board he didn't fully appreciate how much work it needed. But that he knew how to fix it and was working hard to fix it, and he would do whatever it took to fix it. But he told us it would be no easy task and would take time. It really wasn't a rah rah speech, it was actually a disconcerting admission, yet comforting in the sense that recognizing there is a problem is the first step. I'm sorry, I know it isn't popular to believe what execs say, but I did believe this guy. I guess the future will either prove me a fool, or vindicate my instinct.

Look... I hitched my wagon to this star - as many of you have, so what now? I can either get busy livin' or get busy dyin'. We need to look big-picture here. The problems we have today are not necessarily signs as to what the new Frontier will look like going forward, and need to be taken in proper context:

--Low pay. It WILL get fixed in section 6. It can't not get fixed.
--Manual Payroll and associated errors. Keep fighting for your pay, keep filing disputes. It will get fixed.
--Bad Hotels: same thing.
--Contract violations: Learn the contract, grieve violations, fight for it, and build a stronger one next time.
--Ovens, Dirt lots, and no Email... It sucks, but these things aren't game changers.

And don't forget our strengths...

-A truly truly superb group of pilots, by all accounts among the best in the biz.

-A great training department staffed with decent, down to earth instructors and check-airman that help us flourish.

-Big money behind us, making us into something that will go the distance; no more stagnation, no more worry of the doors just shutting.

-A proven business model that works, in an untapped market with nearly unlimited room for growth.

-A strong, unafraid, union that made absolutely brilliant decisions through the hard times, preserving the equity stake, and work rules - committed to exercising our leverage going forward.

Have some patience! We're in a state of flux. What we were before didn't work! What we have now is an ugly hybrid mixture of the old legacy hub carrier and the new vision of the best American ULCC in the making. (yeah I said it, go ahead and flame away.) It isn't pretty because change never is. But take heart, there are certain minimum levels of competence associated with a successful company; the powers-that-be know this and will eventually fix these annoyances, because if they don't they will lose. I think they're a lot smarter than that.

We all need to take some personal responsibility here too. If you're not happy then work to change things. Speak up! We have resources, we have a great union. This pilot group has NEVER been in a stronger position. We're part of the equation guys; we need to own it. Cheer up, our best days are ahead of us.
Nicely said.... +1

I for one can't wait to see what comes of the future!
The flight plans going forward should have equipment suffix "Sierra" (sunglasses due to bright future)

Well... for some upbeat news too... First airplane with new seats just came out of Flordia, second to come out soon. The new airplane is getting its brand new seats installed right now and decal put on shortly afterwards. Can't wait to fly it with another airframe coming very soon!!!!! Growth is always good and in the case of our company; NEEDED BADLY TO SURVIVE & THRIVE!!!!

I'm planning to drive up to denver for training and keep a car there starting in april. as such, i am looking for a room to rent so i don't have to cough up 70/night for a hotel. do you guys have a bulletin board in the crew room with ads like this or know of anyone that wouldn't mind renting out a room for 3 months or so? i am looking for a situation where i have my own room.

if you feel like you might be in a position to help me out, can you please pm me a few phone numbers to help me along with my search? many many thank you's in advance.

Frontier is doubling down on CVG - literally.

Cincinnati Business Courier

Fox 19 Now

"When its expansion is finished, Frontier will have 61 flights per week leaving from CVG compared with 32 today."

How big is 61 flights per week? Do any of our other focus cities come close to that?

CVG makes a lot of sense to me. It is a highly lucrative market I think. Delta has decimated its position there and made the place a ghost town. (Makes me sad every time I go there.)
It will be interesting though, I have heard that SW will be making a show there in the near future. I could see that market making us a lot of money...

Bit close to ORD though. How would reserves get between the bases if there is a weather event in the region.
