Major, National, Regional, who cares!? We all fly airplanes, in the same airspace and airports. Can we get back on topic, please?

Okay guys,

First, you can use the DOT's definition of a "major" to make yourself feel better, but we all know from a PILOT'S STANDPOINT a Major airline is an airline that flies narrow-body or bigger aircraft, and sells tickets under their own name. AE, RAH, etc are not majors.

Second, Frontier didn't used to pay for hotels because all we had was a Denver base and management wanted our pilots to live in Denver. That was back in '07. I believe the newhires from RAH and Midwest hired in (2010 I think) had their hotels paid for during training, so I would expect that would be the the case going forward.

Third, the hiring we are doing is due to growth. Currently the numbers are somewhere around 80 pilots through the end of next year, and possibly more due to attrition, and/or our investor increasing the hiring. Rest rules may play a part in this plan as well.

Frontier (F9) is a good place to work. We have many furloughed USAir, United, and American pilots that did not and will not go back. It is a good job, however there will probably be some changes when Indigo gets their hands on us.

Skybus was flying the Airbus. Were they a Major? 'Constantly rag?' Wth are you talking about?

I was referring to The poster "toomanyrjs", not you :)

The hiring is not due to growth. We have a net airframe loss this year. 1 bus coming in Q4, no other scheduled for 2014 that I have seen. Things can change with orders, as most companies F9 is always looking for airframes with good terms. There has been quite a few FOs leaving thus the reason for hiring. If it was growth you would also see some upgrades as well.

The EMB happens to be a fine bird and knows when it's in ice unlike the Airbus. Why do you constantly rag on RJ guys?

Because RJs are a plague that needs to be eradicated.

Word on the street is that the IBT thugs are considering yet another lawsuit to try and force Frontier to fill all vacancies with RJ pukes from the invalidated IMSL.
