Jet transition training

Yeah I went to SkyWest Sept 2017 and went home Nov 22, 2017 slow progress in the sims.
Started at GoJet Mid October 2018 came home January 10th
I was really close maybe just one or two more sims to solidify my skills. They did say I flew the sim well just messed up on the go around. I know the procedures chair flying but of course it’s different in the sim.
As to my age I’ll be 61 this March so probably takes things a little longer to stick.
Just frustrating I know I was close to being able to pass but it is what it is I guess.
Hopefully it doesn’t matter to you guys but I’m a female pilot. Was a mechanic in the Army and was an airplane builder in the Seattle area. Basically a blue collar worker most of my working life. Paid for my ratings one by one from my hourly paycheck. All part 61 time. Got my private in 2003 and my CFI in 2014. Went from zero hours in 2002 to 1,500 hours in 2017 I’m sure most of you guys flight time was more compressed than mine was.
Never had any illusions of getting to the majors just not enough time left. Didn’t really want to be regional captain unless they made me. Just wanted to be an FO with maybe some seniority for better bidding. Just a small dream...

Now that you've explained your age and your situation... I'm gonna join the "you should try Mesa now" crowd. With four years to go, I wouldn't wait another six months.
We either can make it or can't make it. In your case, you'll get to demonstrate that either in six months to GoJet or possibly sooner somewhere else. Why wait and carry that burden on your shoulders for six months? You're probably better prepared now than you'll be in six months.

I'm not as old as you, but I built up my hours by a similar method over a similar time span. It's doable!

I would definitely try going there. If things go well, you will retire a Captain at Mesa under the fire hoses.

Really that was why I went with GoJet time being my enemy. Obviously was hoping things would have gone better. Well actually it did go better I almost made it but not better enough

To the OP;
Again, I would not try another 121 until you do a transition course or get a type on your own dime. You don't want to make yourself "unhireable" with another 121 incomplete.
I'm not saying an older guy can't do this. It's just harder with your background and you've obviously struggled.
This is a great job and I want you to stick with it and come out winning. You just gotta do it smart.
And another thing, YOU are a terrible judge of what went wrong at Skywest and Gojets. YOU don't really know if just one more sim would have made it work.
Put yourself in a training program or type program and let the pros tell you what's going on, but please don't burn your bridge to 121 by risking a 3rd incomplete 121 program.

I disagree. With age at 61. After waiting and going through training now she’d be 62. 3 years and she’s done. Go Mesa and at least get those extra six months. get seniority for descent last year or two as FO. **** or get off the pot. If you happen to have a problem again so be it but like others said. I don’t think putting around in a light twin is gonna help out enough. Chair Fly and save money. I’d go why crj stuff is relatively fresh

Hey Flogger
sure I understand I may be a poor judge. Both the SSCA and the examiner said I did great with the maneuvers. I know on the go around I became fixated on the rising airspeed and basically was doing a stall recovery asking for flaps 1 at too low of an altitude instead of waiting until acceleration altitude of 1,000 feet. Then forgetting to go to white needles and nav mode on the go around.
Like I said I know the process sitting in my room practicing, but in the sim and during a check ride is not the same environment. So yeah I messed up but in my thinking another session could have solidified my brand new skills.
But all that is moot as I will never know if I am correct in my belief about what went wrong.
If I wait and get extra training my time has almost run out or if I give it another shot sooner and again don’t make it either way I think it’s pretty much game over.
Anyway thanks all for your input

If it doesn’t work this time, game over. If your spouse is not supportive, game over.
