Is GoJet still a scab company?
#12
I know few TWA guys that went over there waiting for AA to call them back. I think its because they are based in STL. I do not think that GJ is a scab airline but sure is an alter ego airline. No picket line was crossed from what I know but I could be wrong. The guys I know there seem to do fine and I think that they just got some order for 4-5 new planes. As far as pay goes I think that the salaries for ALL the regionals are a big disgrace to the industry.

Lets put it this way how would you like it if you were busting your a** for your company and your company get awarded more flying. The company comes to you and says good news we hsve goten awarded more flying but you have to fly 70 seats for 50 seat pay. Then the company says you dont want to fly them for the same pay dont worry we will find someone else. So basically the TSA pilots built the house and Go Jet pilots moved in and say even though you built the house you cant live here. How would that make you feel?

FYI:
Some main line pilots know nothing of this TSA/GoJet thing and some that do know, don't care. Most Senior Waterskiers don't care either. They may not like Go Jet, but they simply don't care.
GoJet is one of (if not the only) airline that is growing because of the United increase in Express flying by 10 airplanes.
Good luck Saluki......

I know, its a loaded question, and I'm really, truly not trying to start a flame war.
For the sake of the discussion, most people would agree that GoJet was created as a scab outfit to circumvent the TSA pilots contract, despite the legal opinion that it was in fact a separate entity.
It has been a number of years now. GoJet has teamsters representation. There is no indication that the TSA and GoJet will ever have their seniority lists merged. The company seems to have won.
At what point will there have been enough water under the bridge to say "GoJet is an okay place to work. Yeah they may be a bottom feeder, and they started off as a scumbag airline, but they're not worse than XYZ."

This whole post is so wrong I don't know where to begin, it's very obvious that you've based all your points on second hand info, like the idiotic sentence that I have marked red. I'm going to assume that you really have no idea and that you're just a regional outsider, unlikely. GOJET is a legitimate place. It's not a "scab" operation. For that to have happened TSA guys would have had to be on strike. Gojet was formed to get around the AA scope so TSA could fly 70 seaters for United. It had nothing to do against pilots. TSA tried to keep the pilots happy by offering one list but pilots refused. Gojet is no different than Republic/ShuttleAmerica/Freedom it's an airline formed to get around 50 seat scope clauses. If there's anything wrong with that, then you might as well call all those other regional pilots scabs for flying mainline flying.

gojet is different than republic/shuttle/freedom......they have a master seniority list for one...gojet was formed after the sweat of your TSA brothers, and they gained what??? nothing!! the boys over at gojet dont have a clue that everyone before you worked and voted down a sub standard contract for yall to say... yeah we can do it for less sure!! ha, im sorry friend, i think its someone else who dosent have their facts straight!!
