Is GoJet still a scab company?

Wow, I seem to have gotten a few tempers flairing. I am not trying to insult anyone, just trying to objectively lay out the version of the story I get at Trans States. Immigrant and retirees.... I am just saying what I have noticed, nothing against them. I am friends with many that I have met at the crash pad I stayed at, but that is their situation. I asked them their story and they tell me they couldn't get hired anywhere else and they either thought they could never have a career in aviation because they were too old, or they had difficulty getting hired somewhere else with english as a second language. A few seemed creepy, and I peresonally witnessed a captain trying to upgrade do dismally at Flight Safety one night beofre wigging out in a very bizarre way. It would seem pretty clear to me that GoJet has had a problem getting the best applicants and undeniable that they have never been adaquately staffed with enough pilots (this according to a friend from GJ), have thus far always been hiring, and ALL of the folks in my class had to turn down an interview with GoJet to even get one with TSA because the GoJet interview is offered by the same people, and always offered first. I know that others and I turned down the interview because of the reputation of the company.
In response to the union thing, I know they don't decide most things, I just bring it up because what they have done is recorded history, so it gives us context and a basis for explanation. Also, much of what I have heard about GoJet was in a candid session with some of the higher ups at our ALPA MECs and a dozen TSA pilots during a BBQ, so take it for what it is. I do not claim that all of this is infallible, just that it is my experience and understanding. Also, there are a lot of good people at GoJet now, I know many personally that are good pilots and decent people. Plus, the desperate number of Furloughed pilots has changed their hiring situation. Maybe things will be different now.

Right on Flynavy
Any of you guys ever read any of the Gojet interview gouges??? They usually all start by some low time commercial pilot or naive flight instructor saying "Dont listen to what everyone says about this company...they are so nice its not bad like everyone says it is...they really care about you....blah blah blah"
Meanwhile....Gojet radio tranmissions continually get stepped on.....they have this amazing ability to weight restrict aircraft...and sometimes have to wait an hour for a hotel shuttle because the first crew they picked up wont wait for them.
Oh yeah....real swell place to work

[QUOTE=AirWillie;442876]Yea because ALL pilots at GJ are foreign nationals. And do you think the story you might get out of TSA guys is the whole unbiased truth?? Weirdos and immigrants, wow......
That's how I would describe many of those I have personally met, though I did not say all. Of course there is always biased (your comments just as good an example), but obviously there is obviously something more than just grumbling that happened which people are talking about. This isn't a myth if I'm hearing it from friends in the majors before I ever applied. Did you notice this is an entire thread on the subject? You don't have to agree with my opinion, but would you dissmiss the entire subject with a roll of your eyes??? Personally, I am a furloughed pilot who would have a job if these two companies had not been divided, but I don't blame GoJet for that. Am I allowed to have an opinion now that I'm deadheaded on GJ flights, lived with GJ pilots, and had friends go to this company? You'd have cause to be upset if I was just smearing the company, but this is my explanation of personal experience. I have eight of these people on speed-dial, and only two are from the USA. That's what I am saying, not to insult anyone, just an objective observation.

Dude where do you come up with all this stuff, you're still stuck in 2005. Get with the times nothing like that happens now, even TSA guys would agree with that. There is no use in lame tactics to intimidate people out of a good airline. If you don't like GJ keep it to yourself despite what you think, you're not a crusader trolling around these forums thinking you're doing anyone a favor.
Put the Kool-Aide down and shut up for a second......everything I just mentioned in my last post happened over the course of last week.....I can tell you what frequency, location. Hell I can even tell you what hotel van left these guys behind.
Get over yourself dude......you are one of maybe 5 people on this forum who will defend Gojets.....no matter how much you try, you will never get the majority of us to believe a word you say.
and for god sakes...change your screen name....its an embarrassment to me and my co-workers...maybe try something more suitable...like....ummm...."GOJETSNPROUD!" or "GOJETTER"

I have had van drivers this summer tell me why the did not stay and wait on us because go jet said we were delayed and were not coming till late, when in fact we have been behind them on the approach.

Hell, some of their hotel contracts even demand a SEPARATE van from the rest of the crews... The hotel in MLI has to field two vans in the morning, one for the scumbags, and one for everyone else. I've even personally seen a HoJet flight attendant kicked out of the "douchebag-free" van.

Here's a good story for you, a buddy of mine is at CAL, he's now going to SWA on account of multiple factors (pay, QOL, schedules). When he interviewed for CAL a while back, there was a guy that wouldn't shut up about how he took a short cut by going to gojets, and how he had no regrets about it. Anyways, make a long story short the gentleman in question didn't get hired at CAL.
My buddy is just one of those people that will talk to anyone to avoid being rude, so he ran into this same person about a month ago, and he was still at gojets...when he asked him how the job hunting was going, the subject in question said that "he couldn't understand why he didn't get hired at CAL and why he's not getting a call from SWA"....simply priceless.
I know a few have fallen through the cracks, but as time moves forward, more and more current regional pilots will move on to the majors, and guess who will be doing the hiring then? Again food for thought guys, do you really want gamble with your careers?
