I have personally sat there and watched a captain deny a guy and it sucks. But i have not been around long enough to know what happened so until i take the time to learn more.......no jumpseating for you. Have any other carriers done the same thing to deny them jumpseating?
You didn't know because it's BS. How could that even be possible, they are separate carriers, separeate UNIONs. It's lies that people come up with to keep justifying their pathetic quest against the pilots of GJ. Read my post 57. After royally screwing their pilot group, ALPA reps have the nerve of turning pilots against each other. If there are people that deny others for personal reasons, just remember that jump seating is a two way street. It's a small industry and people will remember, the many major airline guys that are furloughed/layed off that are at GJ will remember. Imagine that a RJ CA turning down a 10K hour former mainline pilot.

Yesterday we suddenly became too heavy when a gojets guy showed up asking for the jumpseat.....it's amazing how this whole weight and balance thing works!

For anyone out there that thinks that no one knows or cares about gojet pilots think again. I've had the pleasure of seeing our aircraft suddenly become too heavy about 6 times. One time the captain didn't know about the whole thing, and we took a quick five in which I explained to him why it would be a "safety of flight" to have such individual on board...that's all it took!

Think really, really hard before applying at a gojets, it's a big gamble!

I appreciate the GoJet guys that don't even have the courtesy to come check in when jumpeating/deadheading/nonreving in uniform. Even when I dead head on my least favorite airline I have the professional courtesy to at least let them know. There must be some truth to this whole "myth" if they won't even come say hi.

Its because they know they are hated amoungst the majority of us.

And Airwillie.....dont even try to compare SkyWest to Gojets.....they may be non union...and in my opinion i could care less because I think unions are joke anyway (They dont have the pull that they used to) but Skywest isnt an Alter-Ego airline like Gojets.

Aside from the fact that their payscales suck!!!! Skywest's payscales arent much better....but they get a ton of bonuses....i know guys there who have made more as a probie FO than a second year ASA pilot.

If they were good airline to be at...they wouldnt have trouble finding pilots....Ill bet money that not 1 of our 60+ furloughs at Air Wisconsin would ever consider going to work there.

That would be a fair question if we could find proof or accept the fact that the horse is already dead

Your talents might be best served under the cargo section, and not in the regional were you're not in tune with the issues, particularly this one.

And before you repply, two of my closest friends were furloughed from TSA on account of gojets back when they launched...one of them with a wife and a newborn....that's why our aircraft will continue to be weight restricted exclusively for gojet pilots, and believe me, I'm not alone on this one.

You'd like to think that.

Yea unions are a joke. And skywest hasn't affected anybody negatively in the last decade, certainly less than GJ that's been around for 2 or 3 years right?? GOjet isn't an alter-ego, it's a separate carrier. Completely different than TSA.

If they were good airline to be at...they wouldnt have trouble finding pilots....Ill bet money that not 1 of our 60+ furloughs at Air Wisconsin would ever consider going to work there.

HA!! What about Skywest that replaced you in ORD, that keeps low balling everyone else, including Mesa and forcing Expressjet pilots to take a pay cut with hundreds of furloughs? All the while setting up shop in LAX next month with bigger airplanes? Give me a break man. GJ doesn't have trouble finding pilots. They were properly staffed and this year they've been getting ATA and all other layed off pilots. Next class is all ATA and TSA pilots. And by next year it will be twice as big with the 12 CRJ7s coming.

A lot of pilots out there like Dynasty, who have moved on to better things recognize what is going on here. Most of the guys here flaming this thread are TSA. A lot of these guys have reason to be ****ed off what happened to them was really unfortunate. But with the help of their reps and ALPA they managed to screw up what should have been theirs. Now they are looking to blame as if GJ pilots are responsible for what happened even before GJ existed. Give me a break.

In reality GJ is just like any other airline out there, in fact surprisingly a lot of pilots with the exception of the usual suspects still don't know GJ. It's NOT what these people make it out to be. NO one has problems with other pilots. TSA and GJ guys do have to JS or DH on respective airplanes but most of the time they exchange hellos and go about their business. GJ pilots, dispatchers, FAs all are welcomed onboard both airlines. I guarantee you GJ pilots love their job more than TSA do.

That says nothing about GJ pilot furloughs getting preferential treatment. That's for if GJ and TSA are merged and that particular contract makes sense. If you're merging two companies together you don't want some FO fresh out of IOE to have more seniority than a 2 year pilot. Besides it's a moot point, I'm pretty sure TSA would off their 50 seater before they will their CRJ7s as they are now. So don't worry reevesofsky no need to lose sleep over it, GJ won't be invading TSA seniority lists any time soon.
