Airwillie, you'r koolaid seems to be awfully strong. To actually say that Gojet isn't an alter-ego airline is beyond me. Just because the judge ruled in your favor doesn't make the truth any less evident.

You've got a company, owned by a holding company, that shares the same office building, training facilities, and CEO. The things that keep the company seperate are different dispatchers and scheduling....Have you been around long enough to talk to any mechanics, ask them if they're two seperate companies or not, as TSA maintenance does your's as well. Just like Gojet indoc has been taught many many times by TSA (not holdings) instructors.

As far as staffing, it isn't as good as you'd like to believe. If a company is hiring Street Captains (which i believe has ended now), then you can bet they're having some difficulty attracting pilots. These woes were lessened by the recent set of furloughs and shutdowns, but in the end, when everyone else is hiring, most people aren't looking to be part of Gojet.

And maybe it's just because i'm a critical TSA pilot. But i tend to notice many many gojetters walking around the ORD airport and they typically don't look like they're having "the time of their life". Even amongst all the "strife" over here, i'll still be able to hold my head up, and know that i'm flying with an excellent crew, more than i can say for some of the "outstanding" individals i've run across at G7.

What's funny is that 10-15 years from now, there is a good posibility that people will be on this fourm saying "I got hired at (instert some future regional that does not exist yet). I am going pass and wait for a quality regional job such as GoJets."

As long as pilots are willing to fly at the expense of others for less pay, this trend will continue. It is sad but true.

Do I think the pilots at GoJets are scabs... No. They don't fit the definition. Do I think the pilots that apply there are scum bags? Not necessarily. Will I let them on my jumpseat? No.

Right on Flynavy

Any of you guys ever read any of the Gojet interview gouges??? They usually all start by some low time commercial pilot or naive flight instructor saying "Dont listen to what everyone says about this company...they are so nice its not bad like everyone says it is...they really care about you....blah blah blah"

Meanwhile....Gojet radio tranmissions continually get stepped on.....they have this amazing ability to weight restrict aircraft...and sometimes have to wait an hour for a hotel shuttle because the first crew they picked up wont wait for them.

Oh yeah....real swell place to work

Any of you guys remember that one kid who got kicked off of here? he couldnt get hired at any regional and then ratted people out at PSA??? I bet even he had the sense not to work for Gojets

The only thing that makes GoJet a worse place to work than any other regional is the irrational, childish pilots out there who attempt to make GoJet pilot's lives miserable.

My goal has been to get on with the airlines, get my time, and get into the corporate world as quickly as possible. I got on with TSA, got furloughed, and am sitting on my ass wasting my life.

I've talked with corporate/charter guys that have flown for multiple companies and they recommend that I take a job with GoJet. They said that one reason lots of charter/corporate companies don't want to hire 121 guys is because of stupid political arguments like the GoJet one. We're all loser regional guys that are "flying for less". Ask the guys at the majors. We're all enablers. Look in the effing mirror. If you really want to do the profession a favor, you should quit your job. If the regionals can't find any pilots, then the flying will have to go back to the majors and the pay will have to go up. So I recommend every regional pilot quits their job.

Additionally, all of those that say they'll deny their jumpseat to a G7 pilot, just realize that I'm not going to get that jumpseat anyway if I work at the local Burger King.

Wow, I seem to have gotten a few tempers flairing. I am not trying to insult anyone, just trying to objectively lay out the version of the story I get at Trans States. Immigrant and retirees.... I am just saying what I have noticed, nothing against them. I am friends with many that I have met at the crash pad I stayed at, but that is their situation. I asked them their story and they tell me they couldn't get hired anywhere else and they either thought they could never have a career in aviation because they were too old, or they had difficulty getting hired somewhere else with english as a second language. A few seemed creepy, and I peresonally witnessed a captain trying to upgrade do dismally at Flight Safety one night beofre wigging out in a very bizarre way. It would seem pretty clear to me that GoJet has had a problem getting the best applicants and undeniable that they have never been adaquately staffed with enough pilots (this according to a friend from GJ), have thus far always been hiring, and ALL of the folks in my class had to turn down an interview with GoJet to even get one with TSA because the GoJet interview is offered by the same people, and always offered first. I know that others and I turned down the interview because of the reputation of the company.

In response to the union thing, I know they don't decide most things, I just bring it up because what they have done is recorded history, so it gives us context and a basis for explanation. Also, much of what I have heard about GoJet was in a candid session with some of the higher ups at our ALPA MECs and a dozen TSA pilots during a BBQ, so take it for what it is. I do not claim that all of this is infallible, just that it is my experience and understanding. Also, there are a lot of good people at GoJet now, I know many personally that are good pilots and decent people. Plus, the desperate number of Furloughed pilots has changed their hiring situation. Maybe things will be different now.

Yeah right, like these "majors" are going to fly small routes like the regionals. Most places I fly to couldn't even support a CRJ let a lone a E170 or an A320. I agree with stobelma, you quit first!
