Furloughed and still not applying to GO JETS!!!!!!!
#42
I'm confused. All of a sudden Eagle and TSA are on the same team? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't AE furlough like 300 guys back in '01, and at the same time give TSA 14 jets, some of which may still be on the property? So in effect, TSA was the Alter ego to Eagle back then, now the finger is pointed at GJ. (I'm not trying to defend GJ or its operation) I say ALPA has no business telling a furloughed brother/sister where to work. Were all adults, we can make decisions. That recently furloughed pilot has no benefits/protection/insurance/pay or anything from ALPA!

Well let's be realistic. Why would the company be willing to negotiate anything on a dying certificate when they've got the 50+ seat airplanes on the other certificate? I'm just from the side lines but it looks like the future of TSA is very bleak. No doubt what happened in 05 was unfortunate, but they didn't secure the flying so the union now in 09 has nothing to work with in this economy. Even UA is saying we don't prefer 50 seaters. What's done is done, GJ is pretty much flooded with applicants as well as actual former ALPA pilots. We need to figure out how to save TSA.

Screw ALPA and the "brotherhood" and pray that you never find yourself working for an airline that's shutting down for you will be sold down the river so fast and treated as if you were never a member or anything like that.
Thank you, but you can keep that membership.

Laserman, let me put it this way... if ALPA had anything to do with it... I wouldn't be making anywhere remotely close to what I'm making flying this beauty in my avatar.

You are correct, Willie. It's called dues. How much did you pay in dues so far in your career? Wanna compare with Aloha/ATA/Champion guys? It's clear that you don't understand much about loyalty.
What would I expect?
For starters, not kick us out of ALPA-sponsored insurance products, not dicking us over on Union Plus interest rates. Or how about not advocating we work for free??
Quitting an ALPA job vs. getting laid off en masse is a huge difference. If ALPA took care of its members at distressed carriers and actually acted like a union, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Why don't you volunteer then? I know there is work going on for portable seniority, or portable longevity through ALPA carriers. I remember hearing something along those lines in the FfDC.
