Is it your experience (those of you at GoJet) that your airline has the nasty reputation it did back 5 years ago, or has that pretty much gone away?

Ha. Well, maybe some day they won't be the redheaded step-children of the industry. Let's face it; those of us who are flying regional are all on the island of misfit toys.

My take on the whole G7 thing: I was in a G7 JS a few weeks ago and asked the crew the same thing. The Capt was former Comair and the FO was former C5 oddly enough. Both said that they had each had only one negative encounter when asking for a JS. The FO said that moving from C5 to G7 had been a really good move for him. I've seen reports of G7 guys all moving on to bigger and better things as well, so maybe it's not that huge of a deal, save for a few TSA FOs on here that like to get up in arms. I get it, I really do, but it was never really their fight if they've been hired in the last few years. So yeah, now it's G7 and PSA, and perhaps adding XTJ and/or Eagle to that list depending on how things go down the next few months. What's a guy to do, seriously? From my perspective we should be more mad at the guys who allowed the the massive proliferation of the regionals to begin with, that being the pilot groups that voted in the contracts that had the scope provisions to begin with. But, these are also the same people now sitting on the hiring boards that are holding the keys that let us get out of the regionals. Whining about their scope giveaways at your LCC/Major/Legacy interview is probably not a sure way to get hired. Ultimately, the regionals are the regionals. The last decade has been something of an aberration regarding movement, but hopefully the next decade is going to be better. Do what you have to do to create opportunities to move on without stepping on the backs of your fellow pilots, but know that different people's idea of what that is or isn't is going to be different from yours. |

I might be wrong, but I think slats is female and has moved up to a mainline.

Hey GoJet pilots here is a little free information for you! Just because a pilot is in full uniform sitting on your aircraft doesn't mean he is an offline jump seater who didn't check in. Some of us fly for companies,135 operator, who actually pay for our tickets to and from work. So next time you have an FA go grab me from the back and you start lecturing me about how CASS works ask me who I am first. I loved seeing your face after you found out I was a paying passenger and I was going to contact your chief pilot directly. The upgrade to first class was nice, but its still going to be more fun letting your company know why we pushed late.Just remember your place in this world gojet guys and gals, I understand it can be frustrating not paying your bills, eating every other day, and asking mom and dad for help so JR can have a birthday this year, but until you can learn to be professionals, demanded to be treated like professionals, and act like one this sort of crap will continue.

if he was rude to you though, that isn't cool. I know it sucks commuting and a welcome aboard from the crew always makes it nice. Not trying to justify everything, I am just trying to tell you I have seen too many known js people not chrcking in, so I don't blame him for checking. My two cents to it from both views of the industry as I have been on both sides of the table... |

Ual or Hal maybe. fwiw[/QUOTE] I thought Slats was Wingman? Having trouble believing he/she got on with HAL... |
