It's better! Hopped on them the other day, STL-DEN. Best 2nd class citizens in the business! PSA is of course 3rd

Ha. Well, maybe some day they won't be the redheaded step-children of the industry. Let's face it; those of us who are flying regional are all on the island of misfit toys.

Well, except for Slats and all his friends at SkyWest. That said, Inc. has shown a willingness to start to lower the bar a little, exhibit number one being the recent XJT offer.

My take on the whole G7 thing: I was in a G7 JS a few weeks ago and asked the crew the same thing. The Capt was former Comair and the FO was former C5 oddly enough. Both said that they had each had only one negative encounter when asking for a JS. The FO said that moving from C5 to G7 had been a really good move for him.

I've seen reports of G7 guys all moving on to bigger and better things as well, so maybe it's not that huge of a deal, save for a few TSA FOs on here that like to get up in arms. I get it, I really do, but it was never really their fight if they've been hired in the last few years.

So yeah, now it's G7 and PSA, and perhaps adding XTJ and/or Eagle to that list depending on how things go down the next few months. What's a guy to do, seriously? From my perspective we should be more mad at the guys who allowed the the massive proliferation of the regionals to begin with, that being the pilot groups that voted in the contracts that had the scope provisions to begin with. But, these are also the same people now sitting on the hiring boards that are holding the keys that let us get out of the regionals. Whining about their scope giveaways at your LCC/Major/Legacy interview is probably not a sure way to get hired.

Ultimately, the regionals are the regionals. The last decade has been something of an aberration regarding movement, but hopefully the next decade is going to be better. Do what you have to do to create opportunities to move on without stepping on the backs of your fellow pilots, but know that different people's idea of what that is or isn't is going to be different from yours.

If you feel the need to put yourself in a class above me then lets do it right. I will be a 3rd class citizen then you, being better than me in every way, can be a 2nd class citizen bottom feeding regional scumbag. Scumbag bottom feeder rout stealing wanker 2nd class is still better than 3rd class. So you have that going for you, which is good. Hope we are both 1st class soon buddy. This regional stuff is starting to wear me out.

I might be wrong, but I think slats is female and has moved up to a mainline.

Ual or Hal maybe.

News to me. I hope you are right. One less person I have to compete with in an interview. Not sure why she feels the need to still rub salt in our wounds every day but glad all that hard work and being a woman paid off.

Hey GoJet pilots here is a little free information for you! Just because a pilot is in full uniform sitting on your aircraft doesn't mean he is an offline jump seater who didn't check in. Some of us fly for companies,135 operator, who actually pay for our tickets to and from work. So next time you have an FA go grab me from the back and you start lecturing me about how CASS works ask me who I am first. I loved seeing your face after you found out I was a paying passenger and I was going to contact your chief pilot directly. The upgrade to first class was nice, but its still going to be more fun letting your company know why we pushed late.Just remember your place in this world gojet guys and gals, I understand it can be frustrating not paying your bills, eating every other day, and asking mom and dad for help so JR can have a birthday this year, but until you can learn to be professionals, demanded to be treated like professionals, and act like one this sort of crap will continue.

you are 3/4 right it is female and she considers Skywest equal to mainline ;) Considering she was at Colgan she shouldn't throw stones about bottom feeders.....

Hey boss, calm down a bit a see his view maybe. This has been a reacurring thing and many js people do not check in. I have seen it many times. I don't blame him for checking. Doesn't hurt to check. By the way I have been in your shoes and have been asked before too. I do not blame them and would not turn him into a cheif for that. Remember, eventhough a js seater may not be qualified to fly the ac, you could still be of assistance if there is an emergency. You may not be a js, but I don't blame him for checking. Good crm too to have an fa check so he can complete his preflight duties as well.
if he was rude to you though, that isn't cool. I know it sucks commuting and a welcome aboard from the crew always makes it nice. Not trying to justify everything, I am just trying to tell you I have seen too many known js people not chrcking in, so I don't blame him for checking. My two cents to it from both views of the industry as I have been on both sides of the table...
