Are these DECs going to have to sit right seat ever.? Is this just like the TSA Direct Entry Captain program? I had several friends do the TSA one and they said it was a terrible experience. Even the guys I knew that flew manly left seat hated working for that place.

Haha. I'm not the one with 1,691 APC posts since Oct of 2011.

Hey - When you decide to finally get on with one of the 3 legacies, since I'm sure you are just waiting until the right time to put your stuff in, guess who you'll be junior to if we're lucky enough to have you pick AA? By thousands of numbers...

Well if they thought it was a DEC program then they probably didn't like it because TSA doesn't hire DECs. Only CQFOs.

People continue to upgrade as they feel they are ready to upgrade & the company is running upgrade classes for as little as 2 to 4 people...

It is not possible to predict how much you will fly as a FO or CA, but you will get paid as a CA from day 1 for everything that you do.
That's the upside..

The down side is you will be on reserve for a very long time as FO's who are senior to you will continue to upgrade & you will be always on reserve..

The plus side of that equation is that you will make a LOT of money..

In today's environment, reserves are minting money, make a lot more than line holders.. The lack of cancellation pay doesn't affect them as Every time the company touches you, you get paid 4 hrs.. even if you are called to the airport & sent back home or you do a Deadhead for 30 mins in one day, it's 4 hrs of pay.. You finish after Midnight, it's next day, 4 hrs of pay...

Now with 300% pay, when you pick a 4 day trip worth 20 hrs, you make $3,900 at year 1 CA pay on the TOP of your guaranty or whatever else you have earned for the month.

If you live in or near any of the bases, you will be golden..

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I will try to respond as fairly as I can.

PM'ed you. Thanks
