Are the direct-entry captains really going to fly as FO about 50% of the time, or more? How many FO's are on the seniority list? Only GoJet pilots respond please.

Not a G7 guy but have 2 friends that left XJT for the street captain gig at G7. This program is different than a CQFO because you are truly fully a captain. This means you make captain wages not a blended rate like TSA. As for how much you will fly as a captain they are saying about 50% until the FO staffing comes back around which sounds like they have had some decent size classes.

CQFO protects pilots on property. That's why it exists.

I'm not up on this stuff so please educate me on how a cqfo program protects pilots as compared to a street captain position. If they are so short pilots that they are hiring street captains what is to be protected. Basically you upgrade when you have the time because that is the reason they are hiring street captains because they don't have enough internal pilots that are qualified.

Not necessarily. The company can choose to hire Captains and keep current FOs in the right seat since the is where the shortage exists.

I agree. Hire Street Captains and don't offer upgrade classes to any current and future FO's that have the time. Nothing in the contract prevents this.

Glad I upgrade next month.

Out of sheer curiosity, these DECs... Where are they getting based?
