As everyone knows by now, I am not a pilot, but I was warmly welcomed into this forum anyway. I chose to join this group for a variety of reasons, one of which is that I thought I would find a nice, friendly bunch of people. For the most part, many of you have been just wonderful, with insights and perspective so different from my own. I also like to think that I contributed something positive here; I believe that I have. My hope was that everyone would be like this, but I also understand that there will always be someone out there who is unhappy or disgruntled, and decides to make their feelings known in what is really an anonymous cyberforum.
Part of my job is to mentor and train law students and new attorneys. I assume they are all intelligent and smart (after all, like pilots, only the strong and the "cream of the crop" actually make it through law school and become good lawyers), but I am also looking for a person who has character, morals and ethics. A large part of being a lawyer is not how aggressive you are in litigation or how well you wrote that trial brief. It is about how you treat your clients, judges and other lawyers. This is a small world we live in, and the legal community, like the aviation community, is really not that big. In the short time we are here, it behooves us to make positive contributions. Resolve to incorporate happiness and humor in your life. Think about how lucky you are that you have a family, friends, a roof over your head, that you are not in prison, you are not a subsistence farmer in Africa trying to eke out a living, you are not a political prisoner somewhere. You know, things like that.
I have made this comment on other threads before, and I will make it again here - there is a time for seriousness, but we all need lightheartedness and fun every now and then. This thread was started on that premise. I hope it will continue that way.

Now can we get back to hot chicks, short skirts and the really important things in life. SkyGirl, how is your knee and view of the bay? Falcon Girl, did you ever find your panties and things you lost on the ramp? Cass, how is the love life? MzKat, any new conquests? Vagabond, any law students dumber than Browntail? And Slice, congrats on the Sim pass. And animal, I know you have some stories to share. Come on folks, let's get off our arse and get posting!

First of all, nobody is as dumb as Browntail, but there is a place in this world (and this forum) for everyone. He's good for a few laughs.
Second, I hope I am not as dumb as he is tomorrow when I take my first flight lesson! In another thread, I mentioned that I was the winning bid for a gift certificate to flight school. I received good advice from folks here to find the oldest and ugliest instructor, in order to avoid joining the Mile High Club. I will report tomorrow how it all went. But in the meantime, stay clear of the area around Boeing Field between 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. And for those who fly an Alaska MD-80, be on the lookout because I intend to follow you into Sea-Tac. hee hee.

Ha! What do you know? My old and ugly flight instructor just called to say President Bush is hogging Boeing Field tomorrow since he appears to be flying in just to have lunch with Bill Gates. So little ole me has been bumped off. Won't be able to until June 25. Darn it.
