Do you list your title after your name?

Out of sheer curiosity, do you sign your name "name, CFI" or the like? Why or why not?
I can think of a lot of valid arguements BOTH for and against.

I prefer "Esquire"
But, I guess in an appropriate situation, like signing a log book or something.
Do you mean on checks and that kind of thing?
My thought is that I'm not a Dr. and nobody thinks being a pilot is cool besides other pilots.

Only if the title is really snappy like "Lord Emperor of the Known Universe", otherwise only if the title is germane to the document being signed.

hahaha, no not when signing checks, or documents, or anything else. Just, for instance, in the bottom block of your e-mails, or maybe on a business card, or a name plate, etc. Just curious to know what everyone does. I did a google search for the proper ettiquette for putting your credentials behind your name, and there's absolutely no concensus.
You've got a good point, since we're not doctors no one really cares hahaha. And I think a lot of people (including some of our "own" from the aviation community) would think it's a little pretentious.
I guess I'm just playing devils advocate here, but honestly, why the hell NOT (given the appropriate time and place)?! A doctor puts "MD" behind thier name because they're supposedly an expert in thier field. A licensed social worker puts thier credentials behind thier name, as do P.h.D's and people with Master's degrees. Why wouldn't a CERTIFIED flight instructor do the same. Obviously, the former(s) require a considerable amount of academic work, but I don't think there's a disparity between the amount of PRACTICAL work we do for that certificate. It is a serious commitment, and a small "fraternity."
But like I said, I think there are a lot of people who would argue against that, and I could certainly understand the validity of some of them.

On a business card, yes.
Logbook, yes.
Other places, no..... unless you want everyone to be as proud of you, as you are of yourself (reminds me of the "I love ME" walls in some guy's offices)
When I DO use a title, I only use H.R.H.

I sign it with "His Grace" before and "Supreme" after, but then again I have no other titles so I deserve to make a few up. You can also buy some groovy titles at Hamilton University now located in the Bahamas for about ten grand a pop.

Use it on professionally-related documents only where your status as a CFI or ATP is relevant to the matter at hand and not known, or otherwise obvious, to the target audience. Otherwise you come off like a tool.
