Good luck with that, looks like another way to lower the bar even more than it has been already.
I wonder how they plan to make flying more enjoyable because the first time around was,nt so.

Because something like 95% of the startups since 1981 have been failures. Southwest, jetBlue, and airtran have been the exceptions, not the rule. Tough to make a buck in this business without a killer business plan and shrewd management...both of which are rare in aviation.
Actually even the original PE would have survived IMHO if they hadn't bought those 747's. They expanded way to fast. But the original PE was responsible for a lot of things EWR being one of them...They are THE reason EWR has been a success. They showed that EWR was a viable alternative to LGA. NW had a chance before CO to grab EWR and passed. Their bad. EWR was a diamond in the rough no matter how you feel about the area itself. The tri state area has money galore. The new PE being based in PHF....Well good luck I never say never but don't look to see the same success as the original.

IIRC, the big draw to the original People's Express was no frills and cheap airfares. Ummmm , I think every airline is "doing" that now, except the frills (food, drink, pillows, blankets, headsets, baggage, carry on nightmares) are now fees.
I vote fail.
Come to think of it, if they provided the service the Legacies provided before all the crap above, with honest pricing, and without 3+ hour legs on an RJ, they just might make it.
Vote now held in abeyance.

The Associated Press writes that Morisi, an executive with the first PEOPLExpress, "said a CEO has been selected, but won't be publicly named until April because that person is a former CEO for another airline."

They didn't 'try to', they DID charge, but it was for the Cup, not the coffee! It was 50 cents per paper cup. That's why the PE guys always brought their own coffee mugs with them! That way, they could drink free coffee all day, and then later the F/A's would show up at the layover hotel pool with some of the cash they had from selling the seats on board, and spring for happy hour!

Just look at the pictures of some of the officers at the end. Did they even think to go with a professional photographer?
That whole venture leaves me scratching my head.
