So I suppose you fly around wearing a full Athletic Cup just in case the Terrorists try to kick you in the 'nads?

Puhleaze.....if you don't like wearing a tie then don't fly with one, but spare me the "It's a security issue" routine.

I'm sure he's one of the overzealous ffdo's. You know the type, NRA stickers everywhere, don't tread on me stickers, probably briefs the capt about who's in charge in the event of a security threat, etc. Lots of good guys in the program and a few, ahem "special one's"

Anyone have that ASRS report of the I think it was Challenger crew who got into a first fight? Good reading.

Tool of my day: lady who pulled up in front of me at the gas station (while I was pumping gas), and backed up almost to my front bumper...apparently expecting me to back away from the station so she could get in first.

You guys that just take your ties off are pansies. If you're going to be ready for a fight at all times, you've got to give it 100%.

Here's the CA and I last week after getting our crew meals:

The answer is: Young tools with Shiny Jet Syndrome.

But seriously, you guys who doubt the security aspect have never experienced that kind of event. A few years ago a crazy guy entered the cockpit of one of our MD80s. There was a scuffle and our FOs was hurt. Stuff happens.

FFDO training is an eye opener. (or so I'm told) There are bad people out there and some if them mean us harm. Don't begrudge those who are proactive and have stepped up. Some are over zealous dorks but most are OK. Just like anything else.

And Jughead, the shirt lasts another day because the collar will stay cleaner. Did you really need me to enlighten you on that?
Yeah. I guess when you've been through that, you learn all sorts of stuff (or so I'm also told). You also learn everything you hear isn't scripture, and to use some common sense and temper things with good judgement. You learn a terrorist isn't always lurking in first class, waiting for the door to fly open, so he can jerk your head around by your tie like a rag doll.

And I suppose you did need to enlighten me. My tie isn't so filthy that it would dirty up my collar. But I like to wear clean clothes anyway, so, hey whatever you're into - it's not my business.
