I had an FFDO F/O give me some sheite once, when I opened the door to the F/A to grab my cup of coffee....
"HEY! What are you doing?? You need to warn me before you open the door!"
Really? WT Fark are the "Code Words" for...you tool bag?
Some of these clowns should be on Reno, 911!
Just because YOU are paranoid, does not mean Ahmed is outside the door.

You think he'd turn in the seat, ready to draw down? Unsnap with a quick flip of the thumb? Mentally go through possible scenarios?
That's funny - wish you would've asked what difference it made.

So what would he do different if you "warned" him that you were going to open the door? Did he happen to see you stand up and walk to the cockpit door?

The answer is: Young tools with Shiny Jet Syndrome.
But seriously, you guys who doubt the security aspect have never experienced that kind of event. A few years ago a crazy guy entered the cockpit of one of our MD80s. There was a scuffle and our FOs was hurt. Stuff happens.
FFDO training is an eye opener. (or so I'm told) There are bad people out there and some if them mean us harm. Don't begrudge those who are proactive and have stepped up. Some are over zealous dorks but most are OK. Just like anything else.
