Wife and I going on vacation this week...Air Wisky Capt giving his welcome aboard speech...

"I'm so and so, and up here with me is Co-Captain so and so..."

Alright, cool guy to fly with sounds like.

Then he says:

"Welcome aboard this Canadair Whisperjet."

No. No sir. There is one "Whisperjet".

The wonderful 727, where a 1,000 hours meant 800 hours of climb, 100 hours of cruise and 100 hours of descent and landing.

Deafening, really

GF

The BAe-146's that Air Wisconsin used to fly were nicknamed the "whisperjet" due to their quiet engines. Maybe he's an old 146 driver. Still doesn't make any sense referring to a CRJ as that however...

This^^^ The bus radios are a special kind of evil. :p

The -219s glued to the sides with the -17 in the center cut 800 hours of climb to about 200:D. On ferry flights with cookie sheets as ballast, climb rates would astound ATC. They always asked to confirm type. I told them we were a 727 with afterburner.

Wasn't that jet powered by 4 APUs, excluding the one used on the ground?:D
