The last month before I got furloughed back in 2003 I flew an entire month where every single layover was in Michigan. I welcomed the furlough.

Last downtown DTW layover, walking towards Cobo, stopped by the police, they gave me a ride.... said it was easier than doing the paperwork. By the way Inkster is aptly named.

If you want to buy a hydrogen weapon, you must go to Amarillo. I don't know, the last time I was there was 27 years ago. T38's, Falcons, 737's all over the place..Terrific airport restaurant.

Ummmm in foreign ops?? Singapore?? Noooooo:cool: perhaps, your airline it may be SOP to specify IFR vs IFR in the request, unless you get your's through ACARS.

But in my part of the world the airlines of professionals don't need to specify as such.

Airlines typically don't ask for VFR, however in the states it is quite common for someone to specify IFR or VFR in your request on CD- particularly with someone who has a lot of time as a CFI alternating between IFR and VFR. Surely you haven't been overseas sipping cognac for that long?

My technique is to not state IFR as it is quite obvious, but I hardly classify it as toolish.

PDC capable stations, we use ACARS... most international places I go to do not support PDC.
