That was nothing. There's this blogger/"consultant" out there, retired FA, who would barf out so many asinine quarter truths out of contexts in an attempt to create volitility and controversy. I can't remember her name and I don't know what to put into google to search for her other than derogatory explitives. I'm sure someone out there knows the blog I'm talking about as its been on forums before.

I mean she makes that TOTY squealing about dangerous DCA approaches look like Captain Reassurance. She makes Mary Schiavo look like Churchill.

Just a teaser from one of her savvy pro consumer rants:

Lower oxygen levels effect your eyesight. (technically true)

There's less oxygen at higher altitudes, including higher pressure altitudes that plane cabins are typically at. (ok, again, technically true, to a point)

Airlines provide oxygen to pilots on the flight deck. (yes, yes they do)

This oxygen mitigates the harmful effects on their eyesight. (um, yeah ok, that might sort of be true to a point but...)

But the passengers in the back suffer from eye damage. (oh it gets better)

One way you can prevent this is to tell the FA to tell the Captain to turn on the other pack to increase the oxygen for everyone, as airlines routinely operate with some of the packs off to save money even though its destroying your eyesight. (wait, what?)

And lots of other moronic things like that.

That's sounds like a typical fed trying to justify his/her existance but dang. Really? It's like that pax private pilot in the back thats starts a fuss because you didn't do a runup before TO.

TOTD, the pax sitting next to me (I was JS'ing) who was wearing a t-shirt with cutoff sleeves and armpit hair fanning out in all directions.
Just nasty.

Check this one out, glad I never "ran into" her:

Unusual Attitudes:

Can you spell reckless and endangerment? Not only the CFI, but Airman certificate needs to be lifted.

Always comforting to know there are people like good old "Martha" out there flying and always placing safety and common sense first. Amazing that the stats and odds have not caught up with her yet. I hope no one else is near if and when they do.

The customer who angrily accused me of lieing about cruising at fl380. I tried to explain we have this newfangled "rvsm" thing installed on our aircraft that allows us to do just that. He didn't buy it :(

I had that happen once. The guy was mad because he had proof we were only at 8000 ft. Yep, he had one of those mountain hiker watches that also displays altitude. Did not believe us when we tried to explain what the watch was showing was cabin altitude.

Should have just told him to roll down his window next time to see what you're talking about.
