Try carrying yourself like a fork lift operator instead of a leader around a crew of 10 Flight Attendants, 3 Gate Agents, 2 Mechanics, 1 Crew Chief, a company hack Dispatcher and station manager, a pilot pushing Chief Pilot, 200+ passengers, all pushing their own agenda. Let me know how it works out.
I've been the FO for leadership voids like the above situation. It degenerates real quickly into public school class with a weak substitute teacher.

There is a story out there that the first time the Eastern MEC Chairmen met Frank Borman he addressed him as Mister Borman. Borman then asked to be called "Col. Borman". The MEC Chairman than pulled out his military ID and said "Fine, you can call me General". Don't know if it is true but I hope so
