It wasn't on a five mile final, it was, or normally is on the long side 20ish or so from the airport

LOL in FAR theyll have you at 2600 10 miles out, better make it nice and slow then or you will wake the cattle. The approach guys there are a interesting bunch with their logic, I can think of several other stories involving them that I havent seen anywhere else. They'll make a Cessna do a short approach for traffic not even at the outer marker yet.

Keep in mind we are doing a lot of training. Lot's of people in new seats. 210 to grnpa and 180 to depot makes them a little squirmy, even when we assure them it will work.

Thanks, I can imagine. The majority of the problems come on the long side, not so much on the final.

well for one, if your company requires being stable at 1000 it's not gonna happen from 180 at 5 (unless vapp is 160 or so).
