One of the many problems with imternet forums is the fact that people rush to judgement and shoot their mouths off even quicker. My CRM is just fine thank you. In fact my standard jumpseat brief is to ask the jump seater to speak up if they see anything they don't like. That said, delivery is a LARGE part of the message. You weren't there. He was an insistent tool despite being mistaken. With that, I'm through posting here on what's become flightinfoV2.0. Perhaps one day we'll have a respectful forum for us to exchange info and ideas. Fly safe!

(Note: this is a possible re-post from sometime in the past, but worth repeating IMHO)

TOAD (Tool on Any Day):

Any employer (or surrogate for same) who wants a candidate to purchase their own type rating, esp. in today's job market. Like this one...

Sigma Aviation Services for Korean Airlines
Dublin, Ireland

blah, blah, blah

Minimum Requirements:
- current B747-400/800 or B767 type rating
- be prepared to purchase own B777 type rating prior to training

TOTD: anyone who would actually do this

It is a fact that you need to have a tough skin when interacting in any internet forum. You just know you are going to get hit hard at times deservedly or not. It comes with the territory. Like members in any profession are always the hardest on their own. I have never known professional pilots to cut any slack when dealing with their own. There is a gamut of personalities, biases, beliefs, egos, thoughts, and yes capabilities in the APC forums because after all, we are just humans (well, most of us anyway).

Aw, thanks guys!

Similarly nice to get done with long day and occasionally get out of the MD groupthink bubble.

BTW I'd say the SR22 is the new doctor-killer. A little too much plane for many.

I learned the very hard way the first winter. I'd land and the things would shake like Miley Cyrus's butt. Now I take them off at first hint of snow anywhere. Still they look pretty sharp IMO and I get an extra up to 5 kts or so.

It's amazing how many times the proper noun "Cirrus" appears in the NTSB Reporter, isn't it?

TOTD: Anyone who starts yet another PSA thread in the Regionals forum whose sole purpose is to flamebait. You know who you are.

Would love to see you back that up with some facts. Not even close to being a true statement Doc.

Default my tool of almost every day

They guy/gal who decides to slow their aircraft without saying anything to ATC. This might be fine in Fargo (nothing against Fargo, loved the movie) but when 20+ aircraft are behind you, and spacing is predicated on you not slowing cause "I heard you tell the last guy short approach so I was setting up for one" or any other excuse, causes a massive chain reaction. I've seen this day in and day out lately and some of the chain reactions I've seen just this week were downright dangerous.

Just ask

Or maybe they should not be running them at 180 to a 5 mile final.
