If you have a positive space seat, why would you decide to walk over to another flight that leaves a whole 30 minutes earlier and bump an offline guy from the jumpseat?
Congrats, though. You saved 30 minutes of your life by not taking your confirmed seat and cost another guy any hope of getting to his destination tonight.
Bravo HOS/D, 18-year SkyWest captain. You are nominated for TOTD.

From: 7ER B...whatever that means.
I'd like to nominate the passenger on my mostly empty commute. We've been on the ground all of 3 minutes and had stopped, waiting to cross a runway when our offender pops up into the aisle and begins collecting his bags from the overhead. The FA gets on the PA and politely reminds everyone that we are not at the gate and that the seat belt sign is still on. The offending moron then sits back down but leaves his 2 rollaboards sitting in the aisle. Again, the FA tells him over the PA that he can't leave his bags in the aisle, he needs to move them onto an empty seat. Our hero then decides the best course of action is to argue with the FA via shouting and fuming. To her credit, the FA kept her cool and said something to the effect of "Sir, I'm sorry you feel stupid for not knowing or caring about the rules, but they are not only for your safety but also the safety of your fellow passengers. Thank you!" That got more than a few claps and chuckles and has my vote for Cool of the Day!

Ok, maybe not really tool material, but it drove me nuts. During the route check, the Captain that can not pronounce ANY five letter waypoint correctly...
Point: TOMUD
Captain: "TAMID"
Me: "Is that TOMUD?"
Captain: "Yeah"
Me: "Check"
I'm thinking that's not a big deal, it was close... then:
BIGRO
Captain: "BAGRID"
Me: What the??? "BIGRO? Check"
ALEKI
C: "ALEXIS"
Me: Sure... what the heck "Check"
NIKUK
"NOKUD"
"Check"
UVUNO
"UVILL"
"Check"
ADBAG
"ADGOG"
(Holy crap... that's not even close! Are we going to the same place?")
"Check"
And it went like that for about 10 pages worth...
