Frogwater

Several years ago, I remember this same topic was floating around, (no pun intended) and I commented then, so I'll share my memories of making coffee with airplane water again. I used to make coffee with airplane water when I was fairly new (I'm retired now) until the night the cleaners came on board and removed the containers and I heard a "ewwwwwww!" Guess what they found?..... A frog! He was well cooked and floating there in the top of the container. That was when I got a good look at the inside of the container(s). After that, I carried a thermos and the nice ladies at the cafeteria, before food courts became so prevalent, would take the time to bring the tap water to a boil and fill my thermos. Good luck to all.

Tipping used to be for extraordinary service, now it's a form of wage supplement for small business owners.

Europeans have this all figured out: Pay your waitstaff a decent wage. Tips are not expected.

I like our model...tip is expected, but I can defer on that if the service sucks.

As for Europeans....service typically sucks..

Well there is your problem...dont carry grounds. Carry whole beans and use a burr grinder in flight to get the freshest grind possible. :)

You jest, but there is a Virgin American pilot that does carry a French press around with fancy coffee. Apparently he is a pretty nice guy though.

Flew with a Capt who did just that. Carried his own drip coffee maker and a small cooler for French vanilla and half and half. His viewpoint was "Screw it. I live half my life on the road so I'm not going to forgo my own comforts."

It helped that the company we worked for bought tickets to and from the job. He traveled with four bags and would always threaten travel that he was going to check all four bags if they didn't book him first class. Zero sh!ts given....

I'm guessing this isn't Captain Happy from SWA! :p

Kind of a strange thing to do, but I'll give him points for being good looking! :D

What's the problem? I always grab cool stuff off the belt loader to play with during a walk around. Pogo sticks, short putting course around a/c footprint and puppies in kennels.

Guy sounds good, but just imagine the media #$%^ storm rain down if even a minor incident happened after a "show". (I guess he could be a pass/jumpseat rider though)
