To be fair, it was a conditional threat... “Hey bud, you do that to me and I’ll knock you flat." Meaning there would be no threat unless the FA assaults the hero pax. Just sayin.

TOTD goes to the Captain (and fellow employee) who barked (for lack of a better word) at me the other day in the jetway.
Normally at DL when you hand off the plane to another crew, you exchange pleasantries, let them know how the ride was, and any other pertinent information. At the very least, a "good plane. have a nice day."

I was saying bye to all 160ish passengers off an MD90. Mr TOTD is standing at the bottom of the jetway, and loudly (with a look of contempt) says, "You're 2 hours late!" I smile and reply, "Sorry, crazy weather and ground stops in DTW." His response, "Get off the plane!"
I couldn't believe it. I grabbed my bag when I had a chance to swim up stream, and got off without even saying another word to the TOTD.
My Capt and I discussed it - because I couldn't believe it. Me/us getting out of the cockpit shouldn't make a bit of difference in them pushing on time since the plane still had to be cleaned, catered, and 160ish pax loaded. I checked to see if he or his FO were new and might have wanted/needed more time, they were not new.
Like my Capt said...some guys just wake up grumpy.

Always carry a few dog biscuits for such contingencies. A catnip mouse has also proven useful in some cases. :D

Very easy to figure out who this guy was. I'd look him up and submit it to prostan. Completely unacceptable behavior on his part.

There's no 3585 for threatening assault.

Threatening is threatening, and dude would not be going flying that day.

oh I know EXACTLY who he is. I looked him up to see if he's someone I need to put on my DNF list, but he is MSP based so I don't have to worry about him.
It was a 14 hour day at that point, and I was tired and in disbelief. Also, I need to remember I'm not on probation anymore and to politely let someone know not to speak to me that way.

I've been here 17 years. Ten years ago I had an incident similar to yours and did nothing. I made a decision back then I'd no longer disregard blatant rudeness.

There's always something broken on the plane, and it isn't his until you give it to him, right? Head back to the cockpit and write up something, then explain to him "The plane's not yours until I'm done with it. I could tell you were in a hurry so I wrote up the broken (whatever) for you. MX says they'll be here in about 30 minutes. Cheers!"

For the win. I am in awe. Nothing ****es off a grump more than not letting them dampen your mood.
