Yeah, then pilots should never be allowed to read books, magazines, eat, drink. Hell just make it a sterile cockpit 100% of the time.

How many crashes or incidents have resulted from taking in flight photos? That's what I thought. You and David Yankoffsky should hang out.

My cockpit was taking pictures during a flight once. I got mad because he was the one monitoring the flight. I ended up taking the controls back.

The selfie pics are a whole other level, who ever knows this cat and where ever he works should print copies and hang it around the crew room , including the article .

Those of you who think taking a picture above 10 is "being distracted"are no better than this guy. I see no problem with cameras or even a PED being used as a camera in airplane mode. We are only trying to share our love of our job with others who may appreciate it. Even a Gopro turned on at the start of a flight and not touched until the end is fine by me. If you screw up or Crash you just helped the FAA and NTSB in their investigation.

While I am not condoning this act, his facebook profile is being posted all over pilot communities on facebook. Lets just say his profile privacy settings should have been a little tighter, he posted the link to the article on his page, over 300 comments from total strangers just ripping him a new one

You have a point but if your the pilot monitoring and its your leg than they should have no excuse on pulling out a camera and taking pictures. They should be more focused on flying.
