I don't. While it would be cool to go into space, too much work for too little return for me.

Yeah, it's mostly a WHOLE lot of work, plus political and liaison duties...years of that between missions. Personally I had issues with shuttle safety too. I would have had to go as a mission specialist, probably riding in the lower deck

The new spacecraft system looks interesting...it's probably safe enough that you're not literally playing russian roulette with every launch.

Hm, is it possible that the further you delve in to an aviation career the more the work outweighs the return? Perhaps being an astronaut is the top of the chart, where work and return are at the extreme opposites of the spectrum. Whereas flying a Cub for the heck of it is at the other end of the chart where work and return are a lot more proportionate...

Just food for thought

I don't know. I'm pretty happy with my career right now and will feel even better after 1st year pay! Someday that return will allow me to own that Cub.

Yeah I was out at Stillwater yesterday for a cross country in a 152 and decided when we were taxiing out for departure that I needed to own a cub one of these days. The only thing that prompted this was hearing a Cub call the tower, "Suuuper cub ready to taxi to the active.", and "Super Cub cleared for takeoff.".

I have no idea why Super Cub sounds so cool on the radio...
