UPS Hiring Update

Question about trying to get a foot in the door at UPS. I heard that if you got a job throwing boxes for them (or a driver) part time that after awile you would get an interview for a pilot possision? Anybody know if there is truth to that. thanks in advance.

Since the key is the 1,000 hours Pic and recommendations, 1 move to Louisville or start jumpseating lots in our system while 2 you fly for a regional that gets you a quick upgrade to captain. You need to spend time on the air side of UPS's ops-- not the ground side.

Foot in Door
Ok, well Im an IOE Capt at a regional and have about 2500pic in an ATR.
Im going to start jumpseating UPS so I can meet some of the pilots but I really would like to show UPS that this is truely what I want. I realize that they have over 10,000 apps, Im thinking that the part time job throwing boxes could make the difference. (I obviously don't have a life if Im thinking of working on my days off) I am 37 and would like to get in before 40 otherwise I'll settle for my seniority at the regional, any other advice is always welcome. Thanks
