Grammar goes a long way in showing you’re ready to take the responsibilities of a real airline pilot. . .

...but really, good luck. Hopefully all this movement in the last couple months will keep going.

What do you mean??? I don't know if is positive or negative. I'm sorry if my grammar is not that good, I'm from Puerto Rico so basically all the English that I know is not very pretty in terms of extensive vocabulary, but I try to do my best you know?

Fighting a language barrier, coming from the 135 world, and not knowing much of the 121 operations and trying to get on with Eagle is a Tall Order....Wish you the best.

Well... there's always a first time for everything. How else I can get into the 121 flight experience, if I dont take chances??? At least I'm already in a 135 operation (in which I'm the PIC). That means that I can work out with FAA checks, basic Indoctrination, and flight trainings. How many guys with only CFI or some kind of Part 91 ops will be applying and going in interview??? Probably a lot of them. Yes I'm not that good in grammar, but you understand me. =)

I never had failed a pilot checkride being all of them in english. So I'm just keep trying until something good will come. =)

[QUOTE=ejsella;740087]
I know it's going to be a long distance. But I want to fly a regional first for a couple of years (3 to 5) and then go to a major. I'm 22 so I'm young enough to do this type of movement. I just want that by the age of 26 to 28 start in a major airline. I know that I have to start at the bottom but... that's part of the career right?

Welcome to the new majors.

can we pretty much assume that you are going to need an internal rec to get an interview?

Here's what management shared with ALPA this week...

January – 9 recalls
February – 6 recalls; 18 new hires
March – 19 recalls; 15 new hires
April – 15 recalls; 10 new hires
May – 1 recall; 19 new hires

New hires projected to continue after May. This goes without saying that it is all subject to change.

Interviews start next Tuesday, 12 January

Capt. Rich Krutenat
EGL MEC Communications Chairman

Good luck and I'll see you on the line.

So I'm not scare of displacement or changing airplanes...I just want a job and go into the 121 line.
Wow, that's a pretty cocky attitude to have toward your career. If you live like that you WILL end up like the other pilots around here that say eagle is such a horrible place. I'm sorry but if you have 62 hours of multi now (i.e. just starting your career) and you see yourself at a major in 3-5 years I feel sorry for you. You obviously don't understand the situation. I could have understood it if you said you were going to take any job you could get right now, which would be eagle, and then take a job you desired more in 3-5 years. I'd think the majority of the pilots at regionals want to move up too and they all have more experience than you so get in line buddy.

You're career, like many pilots' will not be as fast growing as it used to be. Granted I've only been at Eagle 2 years but I'm not getting my hopes up for a Southwest interview ANYTIME in the near future. I doubt I will see any movement for at least another 8 years. Just pull up a seat and get comfortable because everyone is going to be here for a while.

I do wish you good luck on your upcoming interview. I enjoy Eagle and they have been relativly fair to me and my career. I don't think that you will have a problem with your grammar, especially if you plan to stay in SJU. I flew with several captains there that had a much harder time putting their thoughts into english than you seem to be. I would have never guessed that english was your second language.

Again, Good Luck!!!

If you're from WMU, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a rec...
