I know it's going to be a long distance. But I want to fly a regional first for a couple of years (3 to 5) and then go to a major. I'm 22 so I'm young enough to do this type of movement. I just want that by the age of 26 to 28 start in a major airline. I know that I have to start at the bottom but... that's part of the career right?

So I'm not scare of displacement or changing airplanes...I just want a job and go into the 121 line.
Wow, that's a pretty cocky attitude to have toward your career. If you live like that you WILL end up like the other pilots around here that say eagle is such a horrible place. I'm sorry but if you have 62 hours of multi now (i.e. just starting your career) and you see yourself at a major in 3-5 years I feel sorry for you. You obviously don't understand the situation. I could have understood it if you said you were going to take any job you could get right now, which would be eagle, and then take a job you desired more in 3-5 years. I'd think the majority of the pilots at regionals want to move up too and they all have more experience than you so get in line buddy.

You're career, like many pilots' will not be as fast growing as it used to be. Granted I've only been at Eagle 2 years but I'm not getting my hopes up for a Southwest interview ANYTIME in the near future. I doubt I will see any movement for at least another 8 years. Just pull up a seat and get comfortable because everyone is going to be here for a while.

I do wish you good luck on your upcoming interview. I enjoy Eagle and they have been relativly fair to me and my career. I don't think that you will have a problem with your grammar, especially if you plan to stay in SJU. I flew with several captains there that had a much harder time putting their thoughts into english than you seem to be. I would have never guessed that english was your second language.

Again, Good Luck!!!

If you're from WMU, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a rec...

American Eagle will really help you out if those are your plans.

Wait for the call. I would actually drive to Dallas and ask if you can get an interview.

Give the guy a break. Who here didn't think like this guy when they first got into this business? All you need is a couple of months at a regional to be converted.

Yes English is my second language. Thanks to my instructors, which by my luck they only spoke English... (and one of them was Italian so his english accent was very hard to understand sometimes) I know the English I know now, thanks to them.

Well, sorry if you misunderstood me, these are just my projections, doesn't really mean that that's how is going to happen. It just a matter of time and other stuff like the economic situation of the country, etc.

As I said these are my projections, I want to work hard (i want to do as much overtime and flight time as I can)... I don't think I'll hate AEagle, as much as I don't have to be teaching (which is a good experience and I dont regret it). I'm ok with no matter which base I get or which salary they offer to 1st year FO.

I just want an opportunity to fly with Eagle, expand my knowledge and career as fast as I can. If I can do it in 3 to 5 years GREAT, if not GREAT too. I'll keep waiting as I've been waiting for two years, when pilot got hired with only 350 total time, and I was just in the middle of my commercial training.

That's a good attitude to have, especially for entry level flying like at Eagle. They just want someone that has a good attitude, can do the job and does not have a lot of personal needs.
